The following statement is true: Atlanta-based pop-punkers Cartel will be recording their second album inside a giant transparent bubble on the tranquil banks of the Hudson river at Pier 54 in New York City. The experience will be filmed for a reality show and will involve chest-high shower webcams among other low-brow reality TV staple features.
The whole thing got us thinking about things we’d like to see other bands do in a giant bubble. Here’s our list. Add stuff.
- Talk lots of shit about outsiders and enjoy complete protection from any physical reprisal.
- Entertain passers-by every day with a new one of those gymnastic, multi-human-body-requiring shadow puppets they had at the Academy Awards.
- Tell themselves that the Stones had to record Exile on Main Street in a bubble too.
- Learn Chinese (it’s as good a time as any).
- Rediscover childhood love of doodling on walls.
