- Newly-ousted American Idol contestant Sanjaya will be People magazine’s guest at the White House Correspondents Dinner. If this is a sign of things to come, we hope he’s a more competent politician than singer.
- In her new video “4 In The Morning,” Gwen Stefani playfully makes sullen eye contact with the camera for about four minutes. That about sums up the entire plot. It somehow makes you miss those Harijuku Girls.
- Ethan Hawke’s novel The Hottest State has been made into a film, directed by Ethan Hawke, with a screenplay written by Ethan Hawke. Ethan Hawke won’t be on the soundtrack, but Cat Power, Bright Eyes, Feist, the Black Keys and many more will be.
- Poet and Trent Reznor pal Saul Williams has written Oprah Winfrey an intense, thought-provoking open letter concerning her comments about Hip-Hop music in the shadow of the Imus firing. No word yet whether Oprah has condemned Saul’s soul to Hades for all eternity.
- If we can’t get a new Neil Young album, we’ll settle for an album by Neil Young’s wife, Pegi. Neil provides a husbandly helping hand on a few tracks.
