I guess we have something to be happy about in America…

Completely a symbolic arrest. The guy got off with a 1000 ruble fine. If only he had gotten the same treatment as the other protesters, then we would have had seen more than a few thousand protesting.

Yeah, because the police in the US never beat and arrest protesters. I will also add that when the voice of the masses is squelched by state sponsered violence anywhere in the world, there is nothing to be happy about.

Protesting is a waste of time. It doesn’t accomplish anything. The whole thing about voicing one’s opinion is important, but don’t think it ever really accomplishes anything. If the police beat them up, good for the police. At least cops in Russia know how to let the others know who’s in charge. Cops in America need more power and respect. Not all police brutality is unjustified. Some people like Rodney King deserved the beat-down he took.

Is this supposed to be funny?

I greatly dislike protesting but, I really have no clear way of showing it. It’s a horrible catch-22.

Tell the members of the Polish Solidarity movment that protesting doesn’t do anything.
