Let’s look at the big picture! What Imus said was completely wrong. But it is only offensive to people over 40, this new generation black, white, green, blue or yellow. They have no clue, they don’t know the struggle it took for them to get where they are. We lived it! They will never understand the ramafacations of such a statement.

when can we fire al sharpton and jesse jackson?!?!

granted Imus was wrong in what he said, but why aren’t we firing all the musicians and their supporting stations for putting alot of that slang into public use?

better yet, why the F**K don’t we fire Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson for dragging all the Duke LAX players reps and names through the mud, only to be found innocent? i haven’t heard them apologize for being wrong, so how do they witch hunt all these supposed racists but never take blame when they are wrong?

and for personal effect, i met jesse jackson in dc, and went to introduce myself, me and my white friend, yet he only acknowledged us when a camera appeared, and after the photo, walked away like we were never there?

i think we need to look into putting them (sharpton and jesse) into the unemployment line with Imus’ ass!

am i wrong, or are these two turning into some of the biggest media whores? why honor their power if they can’t admit faults?

oh, and did jesse have an affair on his wife, while sharpton made his own questionable remarks?

confusing, huh?

blackL3DG3 | 4/13/2007, 10:59 am EST

one more though, again, you shouldn’t refer to people as a nappy headed h*, totally agree, but could we ask the Rutgers team what music they listen to or if they dance to say a Snoop Dogg song ever? b/c he don’t love them h*es, he told us all that back in ‘92!

What happend to Don Imus is the perfect example of what happends when you bow to the elites. I am the last person to stick up for the words he used, but who in the hell is Al Sharpton to talk? I could pull quotes of his that are more than a little anti-semetic, but let’s not fire Rev. Sharpton for his words. But he still gets to have his lousy radio show. He still stands by and lets rappers use the same kind of foul language and terms and says NOTHING. This is such a crock! Imus has done lots of work for charities that he has personally involved himself in. He didn’t just write a check, he did the work. It is bloody disgraceful that he is being crucified for one lousy phrase he uttered. And what about Barack Obama? Where was the cry for him to resign his Senate seat and drop out of his Presidential campaign when he went down south and put on that fake black southerner accent. That was plenty more offensive if you ask me. But it’s politically convenient for him to go after Imus, so he does it. Screw all these guys! This is part of a witch hunt and people need to speak up about it, before they lose the right to.

jimmy | 4/13/2007, 11:26 am EST

where was the ACLU? they will stick up for NAMBLA, take away the 10 commandments, and allow the KKK to rally, but they cant stick up for Imus’s free speech?! its a sad day in America when someone makes a 15 second statement (bad as it was) and it erases decades of good radio and decades of service to the comunity around him. sharpton is a nappy headed ho.

I can’t fucking wait for the crackheads to get a lawyer and sue the shit out of Dave Chappelle for his cruel portrayal of crackheads as being black, white lipped, homeless, stupid and criminal. Not all crackheads should be pigeonholed into that mold. It is a travesty of justice that Mr. Chappelle has made millions of dollars cruelly demeaning crackheads!

Absolutely shameful how he lumps a whole group of people together and summarily disrespects them all! I am outraged, as someone that feels bad for the crackheads out there. It is unfair and unjust!

What has been done to Don Imus is disgraceful and frightening. Why frightening? When the likes of “Reverend” Al Sharpton and Jesse “Hymietown” Jackson become the so-called “moral” authority, it’s a scary day indeed.

Al Sharpton is a disgrace. He has committed an act against the United States Constitution, an attack against the First Amendment. When one personally or publicly takes the rights of another, one in actuality has taken rights from themselves. Now, I don’t agree with what Imus said, and the best way is to simply just not tune into his show, period. Let the market decide for itself, and not the actions of self-promoters such as Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, two disgraceful vermin who have their own history of racist remarks, if not racism itself. Shame on you Sharpton. May justice find you sooner, and not later.

Re: Savage Nation | 4/13/2007, 1:25 pm EST

The freedom of speech does not mean the freedom to host a radio show and spew racist garbage. There was no violation of the first amendment. Imus was not locked up for what he said. The guy got fired for doing something stupid, that happens everyday.

Savage Nation | 4/13/2007, 1:39 pm EST

Unfortunately, you’ll get people who are negative, racist, sexist, hateful, and simply rude. And I’m not defending any of that because I don’t agree with those positions, but that’s what you get when you have a “free” society. There will be people, bad people, who will spew this crap. And for the record, as dumb as what Imus said was, he did nothing different than Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle. Granted, those two are funnier and more talented than Imus, but all cases are and were in the context of a joke. If you disagree with this, then go protest Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle, just to name a few. What you simply have done is allowed a double standard. All people who live in a free society, for better or worse, will have to accept the fact that a free society doesn’t mean a loving society. If it was, Al Sharpton, the piece of garbage that he is, would look out for all, and no inthe interest of self-interest. Imus didn’t do or say anything that was worse than anything Sharpton or Jesse Jackson have ever done in their lives.

DH | 4/13/2007, 2:11 pm EST

Imus forgot an important rule of media entertainment: White people can never make a tasteless joke that is racially themed. That market is owned by non-white entertainers, who can say whatever offensive, stereotypical twaddle they choose and are given a free pass.

White Boy | 4/13/2007, 2:16 pm EST

I wonder what Sharpton uses to straighten his hair. Yes Al, you’re still our bitch. Now go pick us some cotton.

Sharpton and Jackson are salivating at the next chance that someone will spew “the hate”.
Sharpton and Jackson are cunning devils. The eyes of judgement are rarely laid on those casting it.

to what Andy posted earlier about Sharpton apologizing to the Duke laxers:

how have i never even thought of that? see, we’re so brainwashed to feel that white people have to apologize for every little non-pc thing we do that we dont even CONSIDER that maybe a black person should apologize for tarnishing the reputation and causing so much harm to a white person. it is 2007, time for the door to swing both ways.

Arlotto | 4/13/2007, 5:18 pm EST

I never liked Imus, but his fans like him. He represents them.

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, self-appointed Black leaders, have caused more real hurt than a clown like Imus ever could.

They represent WhiteMedia-appointed Black leaders. Period.

Would not get a thing
