Fall Out Boy Experience “Personal Issues,” Delay Tour, Kevin Costner Fights the Man in the Name of His Band, Watch 50 Shove a Model Into a Pool

4/6/07, 2:57 pm EST

Fall Out Boy

  • Fall Out Boy – with their sidekick-obsessed mascot Pete Wentz always up late at night posting on this or that message board – can usually be counted on for a little pre-weekend melodrama. The band is delaying the start of their upcoming Honda Civic tour because of “personal issues.” On the one hand we’re thinking it’s something goofy like Pete can’t tour until he chooses between Ashlee and that Jeanae girl he will supposedly never get over. On the other hand we’re worried. Hope the personal issues are amusing as opposed to serious. Check out the entire statement after the jump.
  • The only thing sadder than an actor turned rocker, is an actor turned wanna-be rocker. Kevin Costner, who we will always love because of Bull Durham, is apparently suing Mahee Worldwide Ventures Inc. for breach of contract and fraud, claiming that they failed to appropriately back the Kevin Costner Band for which Costner is the lead singer. Costner is apparently seeking damages in excess of $8.5 million.
  • Just what we always wanted more B-Day related stuff being released/talked about. This week Beyonce released her video album B’Day Anthology Video Album, which consists of eight videos corresponding to songs from the album. If you want to learn more about her approach to changing up the look for each clip, knock yourself out.
  • Listen to the new 50 Cent track “Straight to the Bank.” The album on which it will appear, Curtis, comes out June 19th. Be warned though: Nothing on this album can possibly be as cool as watching 50 shove a drunk wanna-be model from America’s Next Top Model into a Smart Water-themed pool.

PERSONAL ISSUES FORCE FALL OUT BOY TO DELAY START OF HONDA CIVIC TOUR
Fall Out Boy announces that due to personal issues beyond the band’s control, the first few weeks of The Honda Civic Tour have been delayed. These shows will be rescheduled to the end of the tour. Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz says, “Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, we are planning on this being the biggest and best Fall Out Boy show that we could possibly have. Unfortunately, because of some personal issues we had to delay the tour a few weeks. We want to put on the best possible show we can and know that this extra couple of weeks will give us the time to put ourselves in the right place to put on the best show we can. The shows from the earlier part of the tour will be rescheduled to the end but all tickets will be honored for all moved shows. Again we apologize. Our fans really mean the world to us and I promise the wait will be well worth it.” The only show that could not be rescheduled due to routing conflicts is the Sacramento show. Ticket holders for the Sacramento show can refund their tickets and can also re-buy tickets for the Concord date at point of purchase. Tickets may also be exchanged at Concord box office night of show for comparable price level, subject to availability. Refunds for all rescheduled shows will be given at point of purchase. Check the TOUR section for the updated routing as well as friendsorenemies.com and hondacivictour.com.

GO DIE FALL OUT BOY

War | 4/6/2007, 3:39 pm EST

I hope Pete Wentz dies in a fiery car crash, i’d like to be there to watch him try to get out.

Anonymous | 4/6/2007, 3:41 pm EST

Fall Out Boy is easily the best band of this generation. Hands Down. All of you haters just don’t understand what good music is.

Eddie Vedder's Beard | 4/6/2007, 3:44 pm EST

My beard has more talent than Fall Out Boy.

Michael | 4/6/2007, 3:50 pm EST

I hope Fall Out Boy never go on tour. And the fact that you are “worried” makes me wonder if you have teeny-boppers writing your stories for you these days. Yes, Anonymous, FOB is the best band of this generation which happens to be the WORST generation of music ever (even worse than late 80’s hair metal). Go out and buy Led Zeppelin IV and grow up….

Brian | 4/6/2007, 3:59 pm EST

Eddie Vedder DOES have more talent in his beard than all of Fall Out Boy combined

jill hives | 4/6/2007, 3:59 pm EST

i don’t know dude or his music, but that is one jack-ass hairdo.

Classic Rock | 4/6/2007, 4:04 pm EST

Oh my, yes. We “haters” have no idea what good music is… oh, wait! What about riffs? I hear those make for just dandy rock music… maybe if Fall Out Boy wrote any they wouldn’t suck harder Paris Hilton after a two-foot line of blow.

You could find more good riffs by shaking them out of an old Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith or Van Halen record like a dusty rug.

Ooo, and I want to add something in the vein of “Eddie Vedder’s Beard:”

Eddie Van Halen has more talent in the nicotine stains on his teeth than Fall Out Boy could ever dream about having.

the norsemen | 4/6/2007, 4:11 pm EST

Eddie Vedder’s beard has its own beard?

random | 4/6/2007, 4:14 pm EST

i only have whiskers but they still have more talent than every member of fall out boy combined

FALL OUT BOY SUCKS everyone who likes them needs to are either retarted or some weird weird 12 year old girl

New Music = Lame | 4/6/2007, 4:21 pm EST

“Fall Out Boy is easily the best band of this generation.”

I’d like to channel some Doug Stanhope when I say, “That’s like being the prettiest Denny’s waitress.”

ilovedouches | 4/6/2007, 4:26 pm EST

Pete Wentz is my reason for living

brenda | 4/6/2007, 4:54 pm EST

you guy are so cool

FOB = good; 1+ 1 = 3 | 4/6/2007, 5:22 pm EST

I really try to believe in the ‘to each his own’ thing, but wow. I thought the boy band fad of the late 90s was bad…

I keep hoping these fads will stop, but every five to ten years I die a bit more inside as the next one gets churned out by the marketing machine.

bared | 4/6/2007, 5:33 pm EST

fall out boy needs to get their shit straightened out. they r definitely not good enough or cool enough to pull this shit. fuck ‘em!

Gracie | 4/6/2007, 5:44 pm EST

Well, Fall Out Boy is all right as pop punk bands go. I just think it’s a little horrifying that people wish death on someone because he’s annoying. Here’s a simple trick I developed during the Limp Bizkit craze- it’s called turning off the radio for three and a half minutes. It’s amazing. When you do that, you don’t have to hear music that offends you. It also works on TV- just turn it off for a couple mintues or change channels…

Rebuild NOLA | 4/6/2007, 5:52 pm EST

Fall Out Boy and bands like FOB are all puppets. Puppets of MTV or shall I say NMTV and the corporate music world that mass produces them. They are fakes and sellouts thats how come fake posers go to there shows and shell out rediculous amounts of money for there merch..so they can be hip popular and fit in. My band and I agree that you will NEVER and we mean NEVER see us on NMTV no matter how much money the dusty old corporate farts throw at us. If you disagree that they are corporate sellouts just look who is hosting there “tour” HONDA CIVIC.

lik roper | 4/6/2007, 10:08 pm EST

sometimes people get cold feet and have to chill out for awhile; because creating a monster can be easier than dealing with it – just look at axl rose…

PiscesAppleDude | 4/7/2007, 10:00 am EST

poor NOLA.. it’s the way the game is played…you can have your CRED all the way to the dumpster you’ll be diving in for Lunch.
enjoy.

Mike | 4/7/2007, 10:29 am EST

Hopefully the personal issue is affecting them all… and hopefully it leads to suicide.

FOB roper | 4/7/2007, 12:20 pm EST

i am normally not a big fan of dark humor, but Mike; that is damn funny…

unknownnn | 4/7/2007, 12:57 pm EST

I heard Pete OD’d on too much weiner, that’s why they had the cancellations.

FOBROCKS | 4/7/2007, 1:07 pm EST

There is no way Eddie Vedder’s beard has more talent than FOB! FOB is better than 10 Vedder beards!

Mandela | 4/7/2007, 3:40 pm EST

Gracie, I gotte agree with you. I’ve tried that whole turning off the radio thing when I hear Muse coming on and it definetly works. The whole “I wish they die”-stuff is soooo old. Grow up people, even though you hate FOB with every fibre of your being it is totally inappropriate to wish death upon someone…

Tim K | 4/8/2007, 1:11 am EST

You guys are all ignorant. You are wishing death upon a band that is having a great time at what they are doing. What better story than Fall Out Boy’s? They pay their dues riding around in a van for four years and then hit it BIG. My friend first introduce me to them in 2001 and people would say, “what a stupid name.” Those are the same people that now worship them and buy their cd’s. They know they are mainstream because they have created the mainstream for their genre. Its just like talking crap about Green Day or Blink 182. Talk as much as you want but FOB will still be making the big bucks and havin a good time!

Antennas to Heaven | 4/8/2007, 10:26 am EST

Well, why do Fall Out Boy deserve to die? Well, they are on a tour being sponsored by freaking HONDA. Oh yeah, and they are absolutely terrible, possess no talent, and there are thousands of underground bands who deserve FOB’s success way more than Pete Wentz does. At least now people around the country won’t have to see their ugly muggs for a little longer.

Dr. Ralph | 4/8/2007, 1:00 pm EST

Looks like Eddie Van Halen will have some company in rehab. Need a couple weeks to put yourselves in the right place? Hell give me a hand grenade boys, I can put you there in ten seconds. LMFAO

Get real | 4/8/2007, 9:24 pm EST

Any idiot that is going to hope for some musicians they don’t know and claim to hate to die just needs a real reality check.

And wow it is just so cool to hate on bands that eventually find sucess. As soon as they get noticed and get a larger following OH NO they sold out. Because only REAL artists starve and live in vans and have 3 tee shirts and play in dumps right.

UrMomma | 4/8/2007, 10:43 pm EST

And God said: “death to FOB!”

they know when to quit before their act is played out

UrMomma | 4/8/2007, 10:44 pm EST

Making good music 101

Being poor isnt required
Being good is required

Pete Wentz | 4/9/2007, 3:26 pm EST

I enjoy black wang.

Jess | 4/10/2007, 1:35 pm EST

i kinda just wanna know what happened..and that it wasn’t serious..

:S

DeGinner | 4/16/2007, 9:46 pm EST

FOB are sell outs its simple! here in england FOB where up till a while a go nobodys! now i got into te band before any one else knew them and started to spread the word to all my friends i had all there alubms and i was chuffed when they became mainstream, but i was not chuffed when they brought out the from under the cork tree tour adition album!!! i had forked out the full price of the album when it was new then they expect me to pay the full price for an album i had 12 songs from already! i have never bought a FOB album again

Comon... FOB? | 7/15/2007, 11:15 pm EST

Best band of this generation? and
Is that supposed to be some sort of accomplishment?
Cograts FOB youve convinced a bunch of fickle teenagers to buy your repetative, simple, music and watch your stupid music videos which are actually better than the songs themselves.

Anonymous I can tell that your definition of music is all screwed up FOB is ok at best. That good usic compared to a 4th grade musical, you need to go out and listen to Rush, Clapton, Chili Peppers, led, or even the Beatles…

Ria | 7/16/2007, 10:42 am EST
