I absolutely love this cover and video. Anyone who has been paying attention to Alanis after “Jagged Little Pill” knows she got a great sense of humor.

I’m guessing the people who don’t get why this is funny are just mindless pop music fans. Of course, we didn’t need Alanis to point out that “My Humps” is an atrocious song. The Black Eyed Peas won a Grammy for it because of political reasons.

I’m anxiously awaiting her new album. If I can get this song, it should tide me over until the album is released.

the pillow, the slo-mo weeping and the running eyeliner — a nifty moment of self-parody that shows her smarts. check out a song called “doth I protest too much?” on a her fourth album. she gets the joke, too.

I think what gives this joke some credibility, or at least makes me respect Alanis, is the self-mockery the intro pointed out…but nobody’s commented on that.
