Read the entries, all were good, but MixTape Festival was the best by far! Francis, you were ROBBED!! :-(

You know that line, “No news is good news”? Mularkey. I’ve been on the verge of cardiac arrest now for like eight hours.

Will this announcement come on Tuesday (as in today), or Tuesday (as in Wednesday or Thursday)? Still waiting . . . .

Good luck everyone. I still don’t know how you can judge these pieces compared to each other (10 interview Q’s compared to a National Affairs article compared to an imaginary festival?)because they are all completely different assignments. They are all great and we should all feel privileged just to be one of the ten weekly winners. Now we must wait.

Moderate John Mayer fan. He was eatting up some of the tabloids and blogs at the time and seemed “newsworthy.” Just tried to imagine who might be in the next 10 Questions section of an actual issue.

No offense taken.

Good Luck as well, great stuff everyone

hey andrew,

just out of curiosity, are you really a big john mayer fan? i haven’t been following this contest religiously, so i don’t know if RS or you chose the artists you had to think up the questions for.

(not that there’s anything wrong with liking john mayer. Really. I’m not saying that. You’re completely misunderstanding me…)

(damn, I wish I entered…)

Hey, good luck to all of my fellow minutely page-refreshers. This is going to be a really, really long day, I feel.

i’m still the only poster here? well, i’ve read most of them now. the mixtape festival article was the best. the mega and dia frampton bio was okay too.

i write at: www.abandonedstation.com (always feel like a whore when i drop the name)

(have you guys listened to ‘Geek USA’ yet?)

abandonedstation | 4/2/2007, 10:55 am EST

sometimes i wish i took part. then i read how lester bangs got a job here just sending in scathing reviews and articles, not entering contests. i’d be paranoid that all these writing trials will just get me in front of a reality tv show camera. and i’d shut down - both as a writer and a human being - in such artifical conditions.

i don’t know if this makes me an idealist or extremely cynical. tell me rolling stone! I need your guidance as a cultural institution! just squeeze in a note for me in today’s afternoon news roundup. (know what’s a great song? ‘Geek USA’ by Smashing Pumpkins. I just listened to it now. Come back, D’Arcy!)
