Black Eyed Pea Taboo Arrest for DUI, Mute Math Go Backwards and More

3/28/07, 4:56 pm EST

Black Eyed Peas guy get a DUI

  • That guy from the Black Eyed Peas (the one with the crazy cheek bones and goes by the unfortunate name Taboo) has been arrested for driving under the influence after he was involved in a collision yesterday, Billboard reports. The rapper was apparently then released last night after being cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana (weak,) possession of a prescribed medication without a prescription and driving under the influence.
  • Check out Mute Math’s video for “Typical.” The clip is filmed in real time as well as in reverse. So the singer had to learn all the words to his song, backwards. Anyway, it’s cool looking. [via Pop Candy]
  • The lineup for the upcoming season (which begins April 13th on IFC) of The Henry Rollins Show looks awesome. Iggy & The Stooges, Mars Volta, Ryan Adams plus Peaches are all sorted as performers and Rollins plans to interview everyone from Marilyn Manson to John Waters as well. Very cool.
  • Stereogum has been kind enough to track the evolution of this rumor that the Stone Roses will be reuniting for a gig this Friday in Manchester. This would be crazy (as well as awesome) if it were true.
  • Morrissey has announced the official dates for his 2007 US tour. The legendary crooner will bring death disco-ist KRISTEENYOUNG along as his opening act for the entire tour. Dates after the jump.

don’t drink and drive, people…

Erik E Erik | 3/28/2007, 10:12 pm EST

Right, Pharcyde did the backwards thing that this guy is raving about more than a decade ago… but he hasn’t seen it, so… look, a band that does a backwards-talking video! Next, a new video about a guy that turns into a werewolf and dances with zombies– you’ve never seen anything like it!

coemgen | 3/28/2007, 11:09 pm EST

Mute Math is amazing. What a band. Best live show I’ve seen in forever. Their drummer is like animal from the Muppets on speed. Then they put out a crazy, cool video for Typical. Nicely done, guys.

I think votefortheworst.com is having a great impact on American Idol.

Where are the comments showing love for Morrissey? Well here’s one.

Taboo- Not like anyone respects your group or anything but you should be ashamed for driving under the influence. OTHER PEOPLE besides your rich ass have to use the road too.

i wonder if iggy will wear a shirt for the interview.

and mozza’s not fooling around! that’s a big-ass tour!

i can think of no better way to support the counter culture and pour sugar in the mainstream’s gas tank than to participate in votefortheworst.com (too bad it’s still kind of a fansite for the show). i won’t even do any research. i’ll take the advice and vote for the shittiest of the shit.

I love how this magazine likes to erase comments that are even slightly negative.

We’re all grownups here (I hope). You’re a writer-expect some criticism at a point, especially when you have the nerve to shit on the Black Crowes for no reason.
