Snoop Dogg/Diddy UK Tour Cancelled, Summer Is Upon Us, Scott Weiland’s Fashion Emergency

3/27/07, 9:06 am EST

snoop diddy

  • Yesterday we learned that Snoop Dogg was the latest artist experiencing visa problems, as UK officials refused to let the rapper into their country. Initially tourmate Diddy was going to continue on without him, but as of today the entire UK leg of the pair’s tour (five dates) is cancelled. The rappers are still allowed in the rest of Europe and will resume the tour in Dublin on March 31st.
  • And now for a roundup of summer tour/festival details: Marilyn Manson and Slayer will apparently co-headline a North American summer tour beginning July 25th. Rush will be playing a slew of North American dates beginning June 13th and taking them into September. This year’s Family Values tour will feature co-headliners Korn and Evanescence. Rock the Bells Festival will feature performances by a ridiculous number of awesome artists including Nas, Public Enemy, Mos Def plus previously confirmed headliners Rage Against The Machine and the Wu-Tang Clan.
  • Paul McCartney’s new record will apparently feature brand new material plus outtakes from the rocker’s last few albums. There’s also this charming rumor going around that the album will come out on June 18th, McCartney’s 65th birthday.
  • Scott Weiland’s wife has apparently been arrested for burning $10,000 worth of the rocker’s clothes. She did him a favor.

See, the fight really did involve Scott’s clothes! I knew it…

CanCon | 3/27/2007, 10:51 am EST

I’d rather see Slayer and Rush touring together!!

jungleland | 3/27/2007, 10:57 am EST

Unrelated (sorry)

I decided to see what all of the fuss was about Cat Power, so I looked at the video on RS.com

Is this a joke? I though it was Mya Roudolph from SNL doing a parody of a serious singer with funny inflections.

abandonedstation | 3/27/2007, 11:04 am EST

at least scott wasn’t in the clothes at the time of incineration.

poor sir paul. I couldn’t name one song he’s released in the last decade. Am I missing anything good? Any opinions, Liz? Or juicy gossip?

RushFan | 3/27/2007, 11:05 am EST

Oh…Slayer and Rush together??? I would DEFINITELY be there! Talk about a strange crowd…

please take snoop dog | 3/27/2007, 11:12 am EST

Americans don’t want him, you guys in the UK can keep this thug.

He’s a snitch BTW. Ever wonder why Snoop never does jail time for all of these arrests?

Because he rats out somebody.

baba o riley | 3/27/2007, 11:51 am EST

Q: What did Snoop Dog say to Scott Weiland as he tried to extinguish his wardrobe?

A: Drop it like it’s hot!

ME | 3/27/2007, 12:03 pm EST

Snoop Dogg is skinny and ugly. And also uncoordinated.

Klaatu | 3/27/2007, 12:11 pm EST

“Rock the Bells Festival will feature performances by a ridiculous number of awesome artists”

Is zero a ridiculous number? I didn’t even one “awesome” artist in that list.

zeppochick | 3/27/2007, 12:17 pm EST

i think its rude that the UK can pass through illegal immigrants but not let snoop dogg in!! he is 1 of the main men.

RushFan | 3/27/2007, 12:49 pm EST

Who are the “main men?”

Matt | 3/27/2007, 12:53 pm EST

Korn and Evanescence together, huh? I’ll start growing out my rat tail.

Killa | 3/27/2007, 12:58 pm EST

Manonson and Slayer on tour? Should be dope!

the porksword | 3/27/2007, 1:05 pm EST

im sure the guys in slayer refer to things as being “dope”…

RushFan | 3/27/2007, 1:07 pm EST

Not again! Ignore the porksword; he’s an idiot. I could do without Manson, personally, but Slayer on tour will be great.

CTmojo | 3/27/2007, 1:11 pm EST

Mos Def isn’t awesome? Immortal Technique is awesome? Wu-Tang? The Roots? and how dare you say Rage isn’t unbelievably awesome? what’s wrong with you Klaatu, waiting for a boy band reunion tour?

Mark Belling's Hairpiece | 3/27/2007, 1:32 pm EST

Live Hip Hop is awful. I have yet to see one decent Hip Hop show. As far as i can tell, Great Britain is being spared by not having Snoop and Puffy “perform” in “concert”. They should just do the same thing as Jacko and charge money to shake hands.

Joey | 3/27/2007, 2:09 pm EST

Slayer and Manson sound awesome, but I am really looking found to Family Values cause, along with KoRn, there is going to be Hellyeah! (Vinnie Paul and the dudes from Mudvayne and Nothingface), Trivium, and Atreyu

Cory | 3/27/2007, 4:12 pm EST

Hey Hairpiece…go see the Roots. If this doesn’t change your opinion of what live hip-hop can be, then you should give up.

tom | 3/28/2007, 11:25 am EST

its so unfair.we were trying to celebrate the abolition of slave trade with snoop and p.diddy, and all the UK goverment could do is to say no to a rap legend.its so descrimantory.pete doherty sniffs cocain everyday and nobody arrest him,how come snoop is refused visa.am a british citizen and i hate we brits.we are so proud and wicked people.i feela strong pain in my heart for we black people cuz this is going to be going on for a long time.

Dama | 3/29/2007, 3:01 am EST

so far so good

timmay | 3/29/2007, 11:44 am EST

this is more general comment for all rs readers/writers… do u guys owe the Beatles money?? Why is everyone always sucking Paul Mcsuckie ass?? THE BEATLES SUCK!! the 60’s are OVER.

Bobbie Ann | 4/1/2007, 1:13 am EST

Why don’t the Stone Temple Pilot’s reunite? That would be something. Listen to the Beatle’s Music. They have number one songs that sound great after 30 years. You think we will remember any Marilyn Manson or Snoop Dog as long as that?

BoxerDog1001 | 4/5/2007, 6:57 am EST

I saw Primus open up for Rush–excellent concert
