Ronnie to Testify at Phil’s Trial? Britney Wants to Ruin All the Fun

3/22/07, 2:41 pm EST

Phil and Ronnie

  • We are simultaneously terrified of and intrigued by the possibility that Ronnie Spector could testify on behalf of her ex Phil Spector at the legendary producer/icon’s upcoming murder trial, jury selection for which is currently taking place. Check out this alarming/amazing piece by the New York Post’s Maureen Callahan in which the damaged icon proves herself to be at least as crazy as her ex husband. The idea of Ronnie and Phil together again on Court TV is just…it’s compelling.
  • Dead Kennedy’s frontman Jello Biafra has reportedly spoken out against his bandmates for licensing their song “Too Drunk to Fuck” to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s new film Grindhouse, in which it’s played during a rape scene. The backlash? “Jello is getting paid extremely well and we challenge him to put his money where his mouth is and donate his share to a woman’s cause, if he is truly concerned with the issue.” Jello?
  • Britney Spears has won an injunction against British tabloids, which supposedly will keep the publications from publishing unsubstantiated gossip (aka, our lifeblood) about the star’s recent stay in rehab.
  • Venerable hip-hop duo Clipse are heading a summer tour sponsored by Seagram’s. There’s really not much else to say about this. Except that the tour dates are after the jump.

Can someone please explain “The Jump” to me? Did people get really fed up with saying “below.” Please see my signature after the jump.

Hey str8 ej–

Originally the term jump was used to refer to going from one page to another while reading a story in the paper (like when it says see Horse Rape page 4–which is termed the jump line) Thus Rolling Stone has decided to hijack the term and use it to refer to something that appears below the initial text that is shown when the webpage loads in the browser. Don’t worry, this is just another ploy that Rolling Stone uses to appear more cool/knowledgeable/trendy than you (readers in general), so don’t take it personal.

Love Always,

Even if Phil Spector did kill that woman, he should be at most put in some kind of mental home, as he is both a genius and an obvious mental case
