Why do we care what Amy Whinehouse drinks – or whether Brittney Spears does NOT?

You Americans really don’t get Reading/Leeds Festival do you? The number of times I’ve seen people misinterpret it entirely on the ‘net escapes me now.

All the same bands play both festivals. The bands at Reading on the Friday play Leeds on Saturday. The bands at Reading on Saturday play Leeds on Sunday. The bands at Reading on Sunday played Leeds on Friday.

It’s just that simple – there’s never been a discernible difference because they are effectively the same festival, coming under the banner of ‘Carling Weekend’. Reading has been running for years, Leeds is a more recent (last ten years) addition. But that’s all – with the exception of the year Guns ‘n Roses played Leeds but not Reading.

Kate Moss will no doubt be at one of them – probably Reading because it’s in the south… but, unless she can clone herself, not both – not at the same time, at least.

Cross checking the line-ups is as simple as substituting Friday->Saturday, Saturday->Sunday, Sunday->Friday. But why let that get in the way of lazy journalism.

Man, Amy Winehouse might be one of the least attractive women I have ever seen. It’s probably just that picture of her above but GEEZ. She looks like a female Marilyn Manson Moulin Rouge exorcism. And I agree, who cares what she drinks. Is this what passes for journalism these days? That a celebrity actually makes requests? Big surprise! Oh, and this whole Britney thing is just a ploy so that afterwards she’ll be able to make a comeback like Mariah Carey and everyone will call her a hero. I hope she loses her kids.
