- The Red Hot Chili Peppers take a page of the Dave Chappelle playbook with their Block Party-inspired video. Is it our bad vision, or is YouTube video quality getting progressively worse? We think we see Chris Rock in this video, but we can’t tell for sure.
- Snoop Dogg has been apprehended, in Sweden this time, for suspicion of “drugs use.” Apparently, Snoop was so high he forgot Stockholm wasn’t Amsterdam.
- Madonna is taking some time off from recording and illegally adopting third world babies to star in an upcoming episode of Nip/Tuck
- We’ve had nightmares that ended like this: Johnny Marr has revealed that The Smiths will likely never reconcile and be The Smiths again. Oh well, at least Morrissey announced tour dates.
- Do you enjoy learning new languages while being tortured? If so, Avril Lavigne has recorded her new single “Girlfriend” in seven different languages (eight, if you include her weird hybrid of Canadian English.) How do you say “Sucks” in Portuguese?
- What do Paris Hilton and Warner Music have in common? They’ve both “lost interest” in the heiress’s budding pop career. Warner Music anticipates dropping Hilton from their label within weeks. That’s hot.
- As if losing the respect of millions of fans wasn’t bad enough, now Michael Jackson has to deal with the fact that he’ll lose the rights to the Beatles catalog in May 2008.

Wolvaire | 3/12/2007, 10:08 am EST
Wow, was that a flip book or a stop motion RHCP Claymation special. I think heiroglyphics move more fluidly than that choppy ass YouTube video. ALso, I think I loved it.

It’s weird when Avril sings Canadian. She never says “uh huh” or “you got’er”.
pskidmore | 3/12/2007, 10:11 am EST
Shocking that Paris Hilton would be dropped…sort of what happened when she was born.

illegally adopting? please, don’t be one of those lame people who don’t get their facts straight and enjoy being ignorant.

I am not a fan of Boston, but didn’t the lead singer die over the weekend?
wank | 3/12/2007, 10:27 am EST
Doesn’t Brad Delp’s death merit some mention on this shithole website? I don’t even like Boston but if you can find room for Paris Hilton then surely his death could take up a paragraph.
Banjo | 3/12/2007, 10:42 am EST
Comedian Richard Jeni died, supposedly, of suicide over the weekend. isn’t that worth some mention?

One of the best rock bands at Dr.Phils house( Van Halen ) and Dr phil cannot ask the right questions to get the band back together, at Dr phils house was full of extremely talented musicians, all from Van Halen, you would think Dr phil would of ask questions on the great accomplishments of the band, there music, and fans, and structure the questions better.
You can read the article on msnbc.com

Huge fan of the new Chili Peppers video…I think I read/heard something that Chris Rock had a hand in producing it. The band never ceases to amaze me — hence why they’re my fav.

Best Chili Peppers video since Dani California.
…and if you’ve seen the videos made since then (Tell Me Baby, Snow, Desecration Smile), you know that’s not saying much at all.
Nick | 3/12/2007, 11:36 am EST

Lobsters | 3/12/2007, 11:44 am EST

I hate to sound like a fanboy, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers were the first band I’ve ever seen live and I have followed their music since One Hot Minute (I’m 17, give me a break, I own the older CD’s as well).
The video is ok, but I know where they’re coming from. It’s funny, because I recently wrote a biography of Flea for a HSPA essay. Not to brag, but I think I did a pretty good job at my accuracy of his life until Californication.

Chris Rock did produce Hump De Bump, and is in it, if you search around (VH1 might have it now on the RHCPs page) there might be much better quality ones. I think that its pretty cool =).
Sausage | 3/12/2007, 3:32 pm EST

spaceboy | 3/12/2007, 7:07 pm EST

Mike27 | 3/12/2007, 7:15 pm EST
Umm rick rubin produced hump de bump – not chris rock. rock isnt a music producer.
Marshall | 3/13/2007, 11:14 am EST
Maybe I can clear this up…
Chris Rock DIRECTED the “Hump de Bump” video.
Rick Rubin PRODUCED the track.
