- Whoa. We knew Kelis was a total badass, but apparently she’s also kinda crazy, which makes us love her even more. The spitfire/rapper was apparently arrested early this morning after trying to meddle with an undercover police operation. How did she accomplish this? “By screaming racial profanities and rushing toward two female officers posing as prostitutes,” reports claim. (Okay that’s not so nice). Kelis was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence, according to a Miami Beach police report. She was released on $1,500 bond later this morning.
- Bjork’s new record finally has an official release date (no more teasing). The album, Volta, will come out May 7th.
- Beastie Boy Adam Yauch has spoken to Billboard about his work on the new Bad Brains album, Build a Nation, set to come out in late May/early June. “Those guys are really of a different caliber in terms of their songwriting and musicianship,” Yauch said. “We always used to throw songs together and play a little bit, but they were really intense musicians.”
- It’s so sad when immigration officials come between us and the rock. Much buzzed-about Scottish rockers The View have been forced to cancel their upcoming U.S. tour because of visa issues. Boo.
- We’re not sure the aspiring moguls on The Apprentice will be super motivated by the prize they’ll be competing for on the March 4th episode. The contestants will be charged with creating a special VIP experience for something called “preferred Lexus guests.” If they do a really good job, they get to record a track with Snoop, who is making an appearance on the show. No matter how badly this goes, we’ll always have Snoop’s greatest TV moments to remind us he’s awesome.
