I object to this article because it’s so negative. Now Beyonce is no longer ‘cool.’ Seems pretentious. Now I agree the video is not the best, but the song, and most of the album, is not bad at all - sounds different from her last one - more raw -, and has some great tracks on it (Irreplaceable, Ring the Alarm, Deja Vu, Green Light, Upgrade U…). Her style’s not my favourite, but the girl can sing, and dance, and she’s hot, and this new album is not bad at all. Maybe you don’t think it’s as good as crazy in love, but does that mean it’s the complete opposite? Where’s the middle ground?
Finally, yes she was upstaged by Jennifer Hudson, but this girl also beat the likes of Cate Blanchett and Adriana Barrazza for that Academy Award, so that puts Beyonce in pretty good company!

Was Beyonce ever cool? She is the cheeziest, corniest, most overated pop star since Jennifur Lopez. The only thing they are good at is doing an impression of someone with vocal talent. They have a few good tricks to sounding like good singers, but they are mediocre at best.

Granted Beyonce isn’t ‘hood’ but, this video caters to her urban fans. You know, the ones outside that ‘popworld’ because frankly, many of them don’t care for that video with her & Shakira (though I thought it was cool). Her urban audience knows what’s up with her relationship with Jay-Z and how much he influences her. If you even listen to the lyrics, it’s pretty evident and you don’t seem like the type of person who would be into this song to begin with. So pretty much, your article is lop-sided and should’ve been left to an editor in the r&b division perhaps?

She isn’t suppose to be the next anybody when she’s got 8 Grammys and has already set her stone in Hollywood. Like her or not, the girl is doing making moves left & right.

I used to have respect for Shakira. Her Spanish albums were all top-notch. Then she sold out with Laundry Service, regained her musical credibility with both oral fixations, and sunk low again with “Hips Don’t Lie” … oh and even lower with “Beautiful Liar.” As for B, I think she’s good. She sounds like Mickey Mouse next to Jennifer Hudson, though.
