Playlist of the Day: Al Franken, Running Man

2/16/07, 8:00 am EST

Al Franken

Adding to the most interesting election season since James Garfield gave Roscoe Conkling a steam-powered wedgie, comedian/writer/talk show host Al Franken is running for Senate from Minnesota. What should his campaign song be?

  • “The Joker” — Steve Miller Band
  • “Runnin’ Down a Dream” – Tom Petty
  • “I Ain’t No Joke” – Eric B. & Rakim
  • “Get in the Ring” – Guns N’ Roses
  • “Feed My Frankenstein” — Alice Cooper

Al Franken is creepy! I think he was at his best during the SNL skits where he had that big sattelite dish helmet-cam.

I think that AL Franken should run for president. If he did, life would be a lot more fun. Al Franken has a sharp tounge and knows how to use it. In my opinion, he will win if he uses “The Joker” by the Steve Miller Band.

It would only be fitting for Franken to show love for ‘actual’ Minnesotans and use “Makes No Sense at all” by Husker Du. I am so glad I live in Minnesota and get to see this unfold.

16 clumsy + shy | 2/16/2007, 4:23 pm EST

I have no idea why this fits, but it does – “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO. Kinda like a joker’s Battle Hymn, don’t you think?
