New Michael Jackson Song: “No Friend of Mine (Gangsta)”

2/15/07, 4:21 pm EST

Michael Jackson

Oh man. Let’s hope this track, available on DJ Tempamental’s MySpace page, is supposed to be funny. “No Friend of Mine (Gangsta),” which the NME is calling Michael Jackson’s newest material since 2001’s Invincible, is an overproduced mess in which people like Pras reference moonwalking and rhyming “VIP” with “refugee.” (It’s probably all Will.i.am’s fault for introducing Michael to MySpace.) We know Michael Jackson is due for a comeback, but we’re thinking this doesn’t sound like the ammunition he’ll need.

What do you think? Is this track for real? Does it show any promise?

This song is ok but if you want to hear a big original hit song, check ‘Witcha Baad Self’ on Youtube.

Lyrics and music all original

This track is not a MJ produced track and it will not come on any album of MJ in future. He has only recorded the chorus. Its all a pras project and nothing to with MJ.

D Shaw | 6/26/2008, 6:05 pm EST

WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT OVER PRODUCED?
most, if not all of michael jackson’s songs are well produced and well colaborated. He is most definitely due for a come back so save all comments till you’ve heard the album in full.

MJCRAZY | 5/27/2008, 8:17 pm EST

ok i think this song is great but only great at the parts where Michael sings, otherwise i wouldn’t even look at it but wat do i kno…YALL CAN KEEP FIGHTING IF U WANT I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO like not care wat ppl say about MJ cuz they dont kno him one bit.

Anonymous | 5/14/2008, 7:50 pm EST

He needs to work with ppl like Timbaland, TI or even Timberlake or Dr Dre, not bloddy will. i. am. his songs are crap!

D.B. | 4/25/2008, 11:09 pm EST

I have been praying and continue to pray that michael’s next upcoming album will surpass the sales and the greatness of thrillers album and I am doing this because I think michael is a good man very passionate and talented and humanitarian. If he does not get help from God, no one should.

kashimaAntlers | 3/23/2008, 6:52 am EST

Am a jacko fan, but the song freekin mess, his vocals are good as ever but hes made the same mistake as invicible by using substandard rappers to ‘connect’ with the new generation.

hmm lets wait n see……

Chris | 3/22/2008, 5:10 pm EST

I wouldn’t say it’s his best song either, and I agree that he seems to be singing backup for the rapper in the forefront singing the bad lyrics. Poorly written song, badly produced, MJ’s voice still sounds great, but I was hoping he’d come back as a force to be reckoned with, not a backup singer.

I think people should stop taking sides and attack celebrities while favoring the once they like. The reason is that others can do the same to the artists that someone favors. In a way everyone will attack each other and hurt one another. There is no point in doing that. Instead we should all learn to respect all celebrities and admire everyone’s talent without focusing on who is better or who is the best. I think all celebrities have their own unique qualities. In addition, they don’t spent time insulting one another; only funs insult other celebrities, and their funs. I encourage everyone to forget about competition and embrace different qualities that we see in celebrities. Thank you.

I love MIchael he is so good. that new song of his will make it big. People need to stop talking about him. He is a great singer, writer, and dancer. His songs actually makes sense and have a point unlike all the garbage we listen to today
I love Michael Forever
Never stop making music and I will always listen to it

I love seeing comments from so many Michael Jackson supporters and die-hard fans like myself. I’m one to believe he’s been wrongfully accused and treated by the media and people in general who simply don’t understand him. He’s a living legend to this day, and he’ll be loved and remembered long after his time. However, as much as I adore the man and his 80’s-90’s releases, I can’t say I disagree with the comments about him being likely better off just retiring. Yes he’s still wonderful, yes he can still sing and dance, but doing backing vocals for rappers? I think if he wants to make a comeback, he needs to put out something that speaks to his long-time fans, and the young people of this era who would better relate to his messages; instead of trying to fit into the current “pop” genres. He’s greater than that. Messages like “black or white” and “man in the mirror” should be brought back.

When prince can say he’s sold more copies of one album than thriller did, you’ll be entilted to make a pro prince comment (they dont care about mj) ’til then shut ya trap coz ya dont know what ya on about. I’ve been checking out the charts in both the U.S and the U.K Thriller 25th anniversary edition entered the charts @ number 2 and number 3 respectively. And where is prince in either charts? Not even in the top 100. Across Europe the lowest posistion Thriller entered was number 5. Again where was prince? Again not even in the top 100. So much for they dont care about mj. yeah prince is really back!!!!

They do not care about MJ | 2/20/2008, 7:36 am EST

Now that Prince is Big like the earth who care about MJ ? while prince used 2 run away from Press , MJ was kissing them and now they slap him! VIVA PRINCE

carl | 2/9/2008, 4:15 pm EST

The detractors only want to see a great man, an abosolute genius of the musical world flop IT’S NOT HAPPENING PEOPLE THE KING OF POP IS BACK

As someone else said the press forgets what he has achieved (single handedly): The biggest selling album of all time.

“Bad” at the time was not only the 2nd biggest selling album of all time it was also the fastest selling album of all time

Come on people you cant seriously believe the press, you know the same press that called “Invincible” a flop because it ONLY sold 13 million, how many people can say a “so called” flop sold so many copies? Only one THE KING OF POP MICHEAL JACKSON.

Besides all that he has achieved as an artist, they also forget all the good he has done for this world. He is a visionary. Look at “Earth Song” for instance. We now have polotitians saying we must look after our planet……. Who was saying that first????? Oh yeah MICHEAL JACKSON

I’ve heard the new single, its not his best work admitted but its still better than all the crap thats out there at the moment. I for one can’t wait for the new single and album to be released and i’m certain i’m just one of millions who feel the same

KEEP THE FAITH MICHEAL “DON’T LET NOBODY GET YOU DOWN”

Oh just in case you didn’t notice I have completely kept off the topic of them allegations you know the 10 that he was found NOT GUILTY for.

weeto | 2/2/2008, 6:40 am EST

first off michaels album will be amazing. he is the best musician of are time.its exspected.he is no molester or freak. he is just a little different (wierd) but no molester. he is loved and inspired

Aaron B | 1/31/2008, 3:29 pm EST

Amazing track, the rap is a bit weak but MJ sounds better than ever, can’t wait for the new album.

Garrison Jester | 1/29/2008, 1:24 am EST

I’m so pleased to see SO MANY of Michael Jackson’s supporters defend Michael Jackson, THE KING OF POP!!! The Media Lench mob has attempted to smear his name for a long time. Michael has had some issues with trying to recapture his childhood that was taken by his slave driver father. Slumber parties with that Macaulay Culkin dude and other children were just Bad Ideas; and trying to help people only to be taken advantage of. There is no proof he did any of that crap. Get off his back!!! I love Michael Jackson and he will always be a hero in my eyes. WE LOVE YOU AN ALWAYS WILL MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!! Oh Yeah… The song is HOT!!

And what Antonio Bennett said is very true. Rolling Stone Magazine has made so much money whoring out Michael Jackson’s name, and now you assholes want to continue to talk shit about him.

I am canceling my subscription to Rolling Stone magazine. I am ashamed that I ever wasted my money on this piece of shit magazine. I can now use the back issues to wipe my ass with.

I think it’s great! Everything Michael Jackson has ever done is great! America shit on him and you cant deny it! People are so blind. People are so Jelouse and cant deal with the fact that someone like michael is greater then us, so they have to take his money. People just cant stand it if someone has more money then us.

Michael has done so much for the world and what did they do for him?… they backstabed him!

I feel sorry for those kind of people.

I have loved Michael since I was a little girl and I refuse to hear that shit!

Keep it up Michael! I love you!!!

those who are putting the track down, have you even heard it? it sounds hot

Iced Coffee (Cream & Cocunut) | 12/25/2007, 7:17 pm EST

Ummm antonio?? You better check yourself homie. Anyone with a clear mind knows that whack welfare fraud family wanted money, the kids admitted they lied, check the transcripts homie. You need to check yout shit before you post. As far as Invincible goes, while it may not be MJ’s best work, Invincible alone is better than 95% of albums to come out in the last decade. Oh, and MJ is in debt huh? Let me guess, you get that from cable tv? I mean, if you believe that your probably believe there really were weapons of mass destruction.

You wanna drop a comment, come at me with some knowledge son.

farid fehresti | 12/18/2007, 3:57 pm EST

All the people around the world know that the goverment of USA did it to MJ as it did to our nation IRAN.

Sathia M. R.Malaysia | 11/23/2007, 6:22 pm EST

MJ should always stick to making music & music videos where he is one of the best in the world. He should keep producing new work all the time. Thriller came behind all this work he put earlier in his career when his output was more. To me Dangerous is his best work to date.

umm antonio? | 11/18/2007, 9:18 am EST

did you mention that mr. innocent paid of a family to not talk / drop charges? Do you do that if you are innocent?

also, have you taken a look at the guy? He’s a complete freak. Any other case of a “skin disease” has various patches of skin that are still the original color.

the guy is CRAZY. face it. admittedly, he was a genius at one point. I believe crazy and genius are linked, and the guy is just batty. his music is finished - as evidence with “invincible.” He’s lost it entirely, both in his head and musically. if you dont see that, there is something the hell wrong with you.

BTW -224 million in debt - I’d say thats a little “broke”. He wouldnt make that back if thriller was released today and sold 20 million copies. artists dont make the bulk of their money with record sales, esp today.
he needs to retire, and leave with SOME dignity (instead of appearing with mediocre talent and horrible production.)

T. Johnson | 11/9/2007, 7:06 pm EST

Another Number One!, This song is white HOT!

Oki | 11/6/2007, 12:17 am EST

This is so ridiculously generic it makes my head hurt. I’ve loved every album he’s done from off the wall to invincible, but this new song is a **** joke. Who buys into this corny water-down bore? He needs top-notch producers, not the guy from the black eyed peas. What a joke. Just a sign of the times, I guess. Kids will probably love it.

Keith | 11/5/2007, 9:53 am EST

this song is straight HOT…coming from a Producers taste.

The production is great in the track…the album threatens MASSIVE promise.

Antonio Bennett | 10/21/2007, 2:11 pm EST

This song is great. Sometimes I think that people Michael Jackson’s name to promote their own pathetic agendas because they know that if you say “Michael Jackson” people are going to take notice to hear what you are talking about.

Once people do that then these clowns can spout off as much rhetoric as they want. It’s amazing that when I turn on the TV or look at news threads all of what I hear is NEGATIVE concerning Michael Jackson. Whether it be the constant barrage of lawsuits, or people whom choose not to except Michael’s innocence and constantly carry on with the lame attempts at humor concerning Michael Jackson and young children.

HE GOT ACQUITTED ON TEN COUNTS. TEN COUNTS. Not one, not two, but TEN COUNTS!! GET OVER IT, EAT IT, AND EXCEPT IT!! They even tried to lower one of his counts when it was apparent that the FACTS were completely destroying the accusations of that witch hunt of a trial from a felony to a misdemeanor just so they could have the satisfaction of saying “Michael Jackson is a convicted pedophile”. Even if Michael didn’t serve a lick of jail time, they could always hang that over his head. He got acquitted of THAT TOO.

Now when a absolutely slamming track drops some idiot writes a completely biased and unintelligent review of this song without giving any tangible explanation as to why it’s “bad” other than saying that is sound “over-produced”.

Last time I checked, 90% of the music performed today is over-produced so if that were true of this song then I would have to say Michael is in good company don’t you think? Why should the likes of Kanye West, 50 Cent, and others be the only ones to reap the benefits of a generation deprived of genuine creativity?

Rolling Stone magazine has become a shameless propaganda machine that only serves the interests of those whom write the biggest checks. As much money as this publication has made off of covering Michael Jackson’s career it’s pretty asinine to tear down his comeback attempts as well as belittle his worth as an entertainer based off of current public perception on him with has absolutely NOTHING to do with his level of talent, or what he has accomplished. Michael doesn’t have to sing another note for the rest of his life and no one will ever come anywhere CLOSE to accomplishing what he has in his 30+ years in the industry. Not even CLOSE. No one superstar will EVER sell 26 million albums domestically (The Eagles hold the domestic record of 28 million copies of their Greatest Hits,) or 50+ million albums world wide which is STILL a world record. No one will ever win more awards than he has either. The man revolutionized music and videos. He even had an award named after him (MTV Video Vanguard Award.) That usually doesn’t happen until you are passed on. That’s how much of a legend this man is.

Michael Jackson going broke? Psst, please. Off of Thriller ALONE the royalties have him set for life. Last time I check he also had Off The Wall, Bad, Dangerous, History, Blood On the Dance Floor, and Invincible as well. His very name generates money. The reason why money is even and issue is because he is not bringing in a huge cash flow by not touring. One tour of him just singing his old music would generate enough money to pay in full even lawsuit that he supposedly has levied against him.

Michael Jackson detractors (like Rolling Stone)know this which is why they constantly try to hammer ridiculous reviews on ANY attempt at a comeback to stifle his ability to go on a successful tour. If they can keep people thinking he’s a pedophile, that he’s a weirdo, and keep calling him “Wacko Jacko” then in their twisted minds that will keep Michael down forever. I realize that Michael has caused a lot of his own problems. At least he has come to terms with the mistakes that he made. I think it’s time for his detractors to come to terms with the mistakes that THEY made.

One more thing. Michael Jackson IS the King Of Pop. He earned it, and he deserves it. He never PROCLAIMED, STYLED

I have not heard the song you’re talking about but I have some new songs Michael should record for his new album. I can record the new album and bring it into reality. Hit me up at blackandwise@yahoo.com

Mr. SUK | 9/11/2007, 11:06 pm EST

well! this song shows that Michael Jackson still have the sound vocal abilities and Sony is really Phony , but you know… let us say the truth , we’ve lost Michael Jackson since after the album of ( Blood On The Dance Floor ) whichever the incomplete artwork

from Off The Wall to the Blood On The Dance Floor …Michael Jackson was right and he never was wrong at all , he used to know what he is doing even if he was under A-Effect !

as for Invincible’s album… that album showed/or rather informed us that Michael Jackson ( the king of pop ) have lost his track and he is in dangerous…so now what?

the question is now…is MJ going to go missing? …or he will turn back! and that’s what we all waiting to know now …what?

Cheater’s song is the only real MJ pop record we’ve heard so far ( In spite of…)

of course: Rap is 100% good for MJ , Does any one remember? ( Black or White or Jam …This Time Around or 2Bad ) I meant that kind of M-Mixing (R-Ps)…surely yeah , but R&B is 1000% not good for MJ…

I’m pretty sure that Invincibl’s album have failed because of theree people I know them , they have worked with Michael Jackson on his 20001 album , therefor I say that Jackson shouldn’t work or collaborate with William , or even let him produce his new album , Michael Jackson should work with himself or with T.R , someone knows him…and that’s my word

thank you …

………………….. ……

for fun

again… as for ( No Friend Of Mind) Michael Jackson have fished the perfet song to send his message for his VWLV

thanks to Pras…what asmart idea!

‘’ hey I’m still here , strong and freak , and I will bring you back even if you try to leave ‘’

I bet that the video of these song is the video of Neverland Speech 1993 ( the devil’s Mike), please reader: mix the last part of the song with the NS93 video and see

from the part : what you gonna do , cuz I’m gonna get you (Michael Jackson)
no way to run , no where to hide (Yeah girl)

you’ll see one right advert tells you about which time you should get away before MJ comes to your own town to perform the wee love’s show…especialy for Girls now

………………….. ……….

For MJ

so tell me! what about Get Out Of My Mind?

I think we are not in safe right now…but you know!

I love you from the B of T of H and maybe even in the D of the S

God Bless you…

King of Pop is back! Michael you are the greatest ever artisit on the earth! Aaah that voice gave me many goosebumps. No one can ever match MJ, never ever.
One information, this song is not from his new album. This is not composed by him either. He only sang for it. Read details about this song on wikipedia.

Long live MJ.

Anonymous | 6/7/2007, 3:08 am EST

I don’t understand Michael’s intentions. I love him but I think he should isolate himself from the rappers and do his own music. He was singing back up. I think lots of modern rappers are taking advantage of him and using him to go forward. By his vocals, I know he can make music like he did but it seems he is collaborating with everyone. He is still the kig of pop and doesn’t need those mother fuckers to have a good comeback. This song proves he can still make music and sing but this is MJ ft. the rapper (whoever he is). Not rapper ft. MJ. I can hardly hear him. I still love him but I just don’t think he needs those ppl.

Pat | 3/16/2007, 1:04 pm EST

This song clearly isn’t MJ’s song. Sound like someone got a track of Michael’s vocals and mixed it with this song. It’s pretty good, but not up to MJ level.

All you haters can go blow yourselves. Michael Joseph Jackson will never be dupicated by any artist. no one can sell records like he did. the only artist that was on his level was Britney Spears. MJ & Britney are the driving force of the industry. I mean, u can tell by the tabloids. Everyone wants to sell records like mj, but can’t.Thier is no artist alive who can sell out records like Micahel Jackson Or Britney Spears. The music industry is dead, every time u turn around thier are new artist released. Its great hearing form Michael the track isn’t the greatest but lets just see what happens. I’m hoping that the new album has more tracks to show Michael Sexy voice we all know and love e.g Butterflies,Lady in my life and human nature. Michael needs to work with producers and song writers that can regenerate the michael jackson sound but keep it fresh i.e Ne-yo and robin Thicke Take Care Michael WE ALL LOVE U XXXX

JacksonFan | 2/26/2007, 8:48 am EST

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet!
MJ will do the biggest comeback in the history of music. And he will be unbreakable, invincible and no one can doubt that! You all know nothin’! NOTHIN’!!!

ravinder | 2/25/2007, 4:21 pm EST

it’s great hearing new material! the mood reminds me a bit of butterflies. some moody tracks like this on his new album would be nice. but I would prefer it if he would continue where he left off in in 1995. tracks like ’scream’ and ‘they dont care about us’ were awesome! for that in 2007 he needs to hook up with timbaland and missy. wouldnt it be great if tim would produce his whole new album!

suman | 2/25/2007, 1:19 pm EST

every fool out there thinks dissing michael is cool. Micahel has more talent in his finger nail than almost any other musician.

ms | 2/24/2007, 2:59 am EST

These fools here criticizing Michael’s musical abilities to write, compose, produce, sing, and then perform like no other are shameless tabloid junkies who would do better to just keep their ignorant comments to themselves. If you fools actually read court transcipts instead of feeding off some wanker reporters’ vindictive and slanderous reporting of the case, you would know that even after millions of dollars spent by the prosecution to convict MJ, nothing incriminating materialized. That is what those white bastards get for prosecuting on a vendetta instead of pursuing real cases. As for MJ’s appearance, his face is his perogative. All you fools probably look like ugly dogs yourselves.

This country is so racist as to relish in the dehumanization of a black man whose extraordinary talents have entertained millions and sustained his relevance and influence 4 decades over and yet hail a white proven pedophile of a limited artist such as Elvis an eternal king. The humanity! Why do I have an inkling that these fools are predominately white?

Michael, baby, you keep doing your thang.

By the way, I am Asian so I am not speaking on ethnicentricity butthe truth.

Ouch | 2/24/2007, 2:22 am EST

Looks like this reviewer got PWNT. Give it up, hating on MJ isn’t as cool as you think. This isn’t high school, so stop acting like hating MJ is cool and the thing to do. MJ was acquitted by an all white jury in a conservative down by jurors who took their job seriously. Stop acting like the man’s a joke and judge his music. I personally find the song to be average, but his vocals are off the charts and I don’t think this is the half of what MJ will be providing on his new album.

Michael Jackson is the biggest legend there has ever been and will ever be. He never gets the credit he deserves for the work he has done. He IS the music business and why people fixate on his phyical features or private life is nonsense. He has influenced so many people, usher, justin timberlake, beyonce are just a few of hundreds of amazing talent and they all say its down to their idol MICHAEL JACKSON, his new album is gonna be bloody amazing and i and millions of MJ fans around the world can’t wait for it, MJ will be laughing at all the people that ever doubted him saying he is washed up
Bring It On Michael Jackson, you are still the best there is!!!

Tom

MJ Forever | 2/21/2007, 12:09 pm EST

Michael Jackson isnt going anywhere, he’ll keep doing what he does and he’ll always be the best musician of all time. We should all give him credit for not giving up, even with all the bull sh*t he’s had to put up with over the years from freaks who dont know what they’re talking about or are just jealous. He’s a legend, he’s a great person, and he’s an unbelievable artist. When I read these stupid comments from loser who think he’s ‘lame’ or ‘done’, I just laugh… Becuz MJ is too good to ever be done. The new song is awesome, MJ is totally there, his singing and the beat is so real. The next album is gonna go off with a bang and he’ll be laughing at all the freaks who tried to screw him over. Even if you don’t love his amazing music, at least give him the respect he deserves.

After reading the review of no friend of mine I was expecting to hear a song that sonded dated and Michael Jackson sonud washed up. Upon actually hearing the song I was truly blown away by Michael Jacksons singing ability. I read reviews for artist who have zero talent that I can see get good and evengreat reviews. Thw review of no friend of Mine shows how you don’t givegood reviews based on merit. Like it or not you would be veryhard prest to produce another artist with Michaels range. I listened to No friend of mine 20 times straight. Stop being biased and give Michael Jackson a chance he is a talent and that is whatmusic today needs most spjordan80@yahoo.com

chris | 2/18/2007, 11:06 am EST

sounds class! MJ’s singing at the end is awesome!

Jessy | 2/18/2007, 10:40 am EST

I’m fed up with all these ignorant people critizing Michael when they don’t even know how to spell! Go back 2 school - maybe then you’ll see that MJ is NOT a child molester, he is NOT a freak, he’s just a flippin good musician and a lovely person.
MJ 4eva!

Brooklyn Life | 2/18/2007, 1:32 am EST

I guess my words about this being a racist hip-hop, and black music hating entity must have struck a cord. Well, it’s cool the truth sometimes hurts the bottom line. Especially a big comopany like Werner. Anyways, the song still sounds hot, and I still say some cornhusking writer from Hickville Nebraska, who use to lead a hooded rally through main street, is not the authority on black music. And yes it seems the most Black people in the “Urban” communities whom responded to the song on an Urban Magazine site loved the song. I mean there was out of 91 responses only two negatives. and the average rating of the song was a 9 out of 10. Even 50Cent and Nas didn’t get that much attention or response.
As for the Child molestation comments. Lets take a second to reflect. Lets say this was little Malik invited to the house. I believe given the negative press in regard to previous incidents, Little Malik would have been allowed only of his dad Elshabazz and his mother Shaquanna were there too. As for sleeping over it would only happen if there was space there for Malik to sleep with mom and dad in the same room and the same bed. And if Michael wanted Malik to spend time with him it would be with papa Bazz or mommie Shasha right there in the same place. Trust me little Malik would never have to worry about anything improper happening because his parents would not have pimped him out like that. Get real the parents were looking to make a fast dollar.

Lenapi | 2/18/2007, 1:14 am EST

I was a huge MJ fan for many years. Still am. After the scandal I saw him on some awards show and thought he lost it, the gift. I was wrong. This song was incredible. He still is MJ despite the rumours, the sadness and the media blackout. One can not dispute his talent, his voice and the old school realness in his voice. Try finding this in anyone on your top 40 or rnb today. MJ is an icon. He will outlive all of us despite your beliefs. Welcome back Michael.

Daniel | 2/17/2007, 2:02 pm EST

The vocals r f#kk#n awesome!

Dannovic | 2/17/2007, 10:07 am EST

This song is cool. There is no one like Michael Jackson his Music is allways ahead of our time. Just listen to his dangerous album. If you listen to the songs from that album you will still find the new songs today having trouble to live up to the songs harcore beats and cool all round brilliantly music tracks. As for this song I think it is a cool track, but it is not his comeback single that’s for sure.

alex | 2/17/2007, 6:22 am EST

This is a collaboration song of tempamental asking michael to lend his vocals to the song, otherwise this has nothing to do with him-but this song is GOOD. The next time we will hear him is on his new single ‘you are so beautiful’ and then ‘I’m dreamin’, these songs will be amazing.

Bob | 2/17/2007, 3:52 am EST

This isn’t a Michael Jackson song. It’s not his comeback single. It’s a song by Tempamental which features vocals MJ. The vocals are new, they are taken from an unreleased MJ song which he recorded back in 2001.

Marcus | 2/17/2007, 3:17 am EST

This song is fantasic!! Too bad people are brainwashed and beleave all the crap they hear about MJ on the news etc. I saw a documentary exposing ppl who accused MJ of sexual abuse to be liers! Some big guys pay boys to acuse him!. Micheal has lasted longer than any other Mega music star. Big names in the music industry are trying to ruin his career by false acusations etc and they even stoped promoting the Invincible album out of the blue. His strength is godlike and he NEVER stops. This is the greatest musician ever and all the big artists are inspired by him and even barrow his moves, sound and style.. but nobody ever comes close to his level. KING OF POP!!!

Jazzy | 2/17/2007, 12:52 am EST

I listened to the song again, I have to admit, it is a hot track and it grows on you. It may end up being to hottest track of the year. If anyone hear listens to any of the recently hot pop hip-hop songs they are not nearly as entertaining nor as catchy. This is a hot track.

REALIST | 2/17/2007, 12:27 am EST

Michael, I’m not too much of a fan of rapp, but the part with your voice was amazing. As they say on American Idol, no one can sing like you. You did your thing and put your all into it, even though you were a backup. Like the dedication. Can’t wait to see you perform again…even the haters are anxious to see you perform too! :-)

TO: r from r | 2/17/2007, 12:26 am EST

It wasn’t Michael’s choice to patrol around the myspace site, William gave him that suggestion. Stop with the childish comments.

To Jeff D: Grow up.

Jazzy | 2/17/2007, 12:21 am EST

Yo, I’m feeling this song, it really hits all the great elements of a song. Catchy tune, easy to remember Hook, words that can be repeated, and each artist gets a chance to shine. But of course the king of Pop, showed why he is the king of Pop. The Pras lines were relatively nice and not too impressive but it was well placed. Tempa was very good he played with Micheal’s catalog nicely. Well I would buy it.

Jazzy | 2/17/2007, 12:14 am EST

What happened to Brooklyn Life, he sounded like he had something to say. Is this really a racist magazine? Wow dude really gave me something to check up on. I mean whoa!!!

Jonathan | 2/16/2007, 11:26 pm EST

This new version isn’t really as good as the frist version of this song, the sound is waaay better. The only thing you get on this version that’s positive is more of MJ’s vocals which are razor sharp. He sounds amazing I don’t think anyone would even try to deny that. I do think this is a partial of some song he had already done and someone found it and mixed in some rapping. but Michael sounds incredible. The new album (if he sounds like this) will be another #1 multi-million seller like all his others.

Brooklyn Life | 2/16/2007, 10:56 pm EST

This is how played Rollin Stones is. First off, Yall rode Mike’s jock to the top, now some pencil pushin white dude from Nebraska writes about how two music legends sound on a hot track. Yall didnt even cover black music racist azz company. Now you think you know what we like. Mike is f–kin Hot on this track, the kat that came off first blazed, Praz did his thing, He aint got to prove nothin He WON A GRAMMY after your magazine said the Fugees should be dismanteled. Then yall kissed their azz when their album wouldn’t stop selling and had them ON THE COVER OF YOUR WHITEY MAG. And all of the people here hatin must think this dude writing has a hip hop music credability. This track was played so much on The Source Magazine’s site they had to take it off just to save their servers from crashing. It also was the most commented and best rated. Within two days it was at 12 thousand spins. Yeah, plus this is far better than half the fluff yall promote this track blazez all the other bullsh**t yall were probably paid to push. Bullsh@*t racist Magazine. That’s right black people don’t buy your crap.

peckerfauxwood | 2/16/2007, 10:27 pm EST

“mine, mine, mine mine, the doggone gansta is mine” wait that sounds familiar

Brooklyn | 2/16/2007, 3:07 pm EST

To Jeff D (1st post): The media will NEVER stop covering Michael Jackson. Can’t you see that they are clearly OBSESSED with the man. LOL! They like to say that he is a “has-been,” but at the sametime they continue to cover his every move. Has-been’s don’t usually get that type of attention, do they? The other day they printed pictures of his shopping bags leaving a store in Las Vegas. If your looking to call something pathetic, you should start with the media’s Michael Jackson obsession. LOL!

Brooklyn | 2/16/2007, 2:58 pm EST

That’s not a NEW Michael Jackson song. PLEASE! Pras and Company probably got their hands on some MJ outtake vocals and mixed that joint up. How can that be a MJ song, when you have MJ ONLY singing a chorus. Although I must admit, Michael’s vocals sound amazing. The man is STILL a Thriller!

Jason | 2/16/2007, 2:32 pm EST

And you Jeff D stop with the name calling and rude comments and no he never stopped being a musician.

Jason | 2/16/2007, 2:27 pm EST

As this thread’s content clearly attests too, Michael Jackson fans are the weirdest cult this side of Scientology.

LKK | 2/16/2007, 12:53 pm EST

MJ’s vocals are INSANELY GOOD — so much better than usher or JT its freakishly funny — he should get the grammy for best pop vocal easily .. however I agree he should work with Timbaland or Pharrel instead of William .. the retro thing wont work with the younger crowd .. but the vocals still rock. Escape also had a decent beat but was never released either. william says mj wants to release the album entirely online coz he doesnt have a record deal. and simon fuller wont be working with MJ though it would be super if he did. mj needs a good manager but so many have stabbed him in the back he probably doesnt trust anyone anymore. a hit record and a hit video and pop culture’s most infuential artist will show off his undisputed crown once more. and i agree .. sneddon tried his best to get mj but couldn’t .. he’s innocent until proven guilty .. exonerated on all counts so anyone who calls him a child molester is spitting on the constitution.

Jacob | 2/16/2007, 12:44 pm EST

The best thing he could do for his career is just go on tour and play the hits. Lord knows, he’s had enough of em to fill up a set list quite nicely. No wierd stage show, no wierd costumes, don’t talk or sing about children…..just stick to the big hits…..and remind people that at one time, he was a credible artist who made classic records. Other than that….he should just retire. His last album was weak, and a new one probably won’t be much better.

Jacob

Joseph A | 2/16/2007, 11:51 am EST

I think its a great song. It’s not a MJ song though, it’s a DJ Tempamental/Pras track ft. Michael Jackson. Either way, its hot and Micheal sounds at the top of his game. Can’t wait for his new album.

Donell J | 2/16/2007, 11:29 am EST

This song is HOTT!! Straight up crack!! Mike sounds excellent and the beat, melodys, harmonys are fire. Yall crazy

Den | 2/16/2007, 11:01 am EST

Sounds a bit fake to me. Why are his vocals so burried in the mix? Anyway, if it’s the way his new material is gonna sound like, he lost his mind. He should have hooked up with The Neptunes a long time ago.

sammy | 2/16/2007, 10:19 am EST

greg z- hunny in america you are innocent until proven guilty. most of the details are confidential and not splurged through the media. the media can only tell us so much.

michael’s producers need to direct him in the correct path. rap is not the way for michael. rap is dying. he needs to be reborn.

maybe he just needs to perform his old songs. you can only create so many hit singles.

Greg Z | 2/16/2007, 9:30 am EST

Terrible effort from this child molester who should be in prison making music in the showers.

JayKay | 2/16/2007, 9:18 am EST

MJ wrote most of his biggest hits, such as Billie Jean, Beat it, Don´t stop til´ you get enough, The way you make me feel, Smooth Criminal and so on. As someone pointed out, he had huge input in the arrangement of the songs. He´s known for always bringing a finished song to the studio, never just a beat or part of a song like most other artists. He is a musician all right.

BL | 2/16/2007, 8:22 am EST

If you aren’t ignorant and if you have the unbiased intelligence to judge him only on the power his musical impact on our culture, Michael Jackson will always be the King of Pop just like Elvis will always be the King.

Krunch | 2/16/2007, 8:19 am EST

OK, he’s a pedophile. But if you take him out of the equasion and just listen to the song, it’s not bad. His voice is different that your average rapper, he actually has a voice. He brings a steady rythm to the rap and a dash of motown sensibility to the tone. Seriously not bad.

MC | 2/16/2007, 8:00 am EST

First of all: its a Tempamental/ Pras song, in c. with MJ. Its not”his” song…And I look frward to hear HIS music, but I like this song as a “teaser” to whats coming: to the ones who say he cant hit high notes anymore: bhaaa! Go listen to this one! He sounds as good as ever. For the people still stuck in the court TV version of the world, go detox; it will do you good….

DAN | 2/16/2007, 7:55 am EST

Whoever said that MJ’s previous albums don’t prove he’s a musical genius but that Quincy is a great producer….I have one thing to say:
Go and read the credits!!
You’ll find that MJ wrote and composed most of the songs. He also did all of the vocal and rhythm arrangements and backup vocals.

As for this song. I love it. It’s obviously not his though. It’s Tempamental’s.
The rapping is a bit weak, but MJ’s vocals are OFF THE HOOK!! He basically carries the song.

A lot of people here just want to pounce on any reason to slag the guy off….cos that’s the “in” thing to do. Nevermind that the guy was cleared of all charges. Nevermind that the families suing him were out for money and had histories of extortion. Nevermind his incredible contribution to the music industry and humanitarian causes.
Why don’t some of make a significant contribution to society and then judge?

jon | 2/16/2007, 7:16 am EST

does anyone know the difference between musician and performer? Not here apparently.

JN | 2/16/2007, 7:06 am EST

This is not an MJ track. It´s him singing backup. His voice sounds awesome though. If he´s such an unimportant artist, then why is everybody still imitating him? I´m still waiting for JT to do at least something that he didn´t borrow from MJ or Prince.

Axel | 2/16/2007, 7:01 am EST

Man! I am so loving MJ’s vocals
Can’t wait for MJ’s new album

Joshua | 2/16/2007, 3:58 am EST

MICHAEL JACKSON IS THE KING OF POP.

Wait till his album is released, and even if it is “crap” he will still be te KING of POP.

Who can even compares to his singing/dancing/on stage persona? NO ONE!

Josh

You always brace youself for a new song of his to be bad, but this is just crap. It sound like a reject track from 10 years ago.

white MJ = Lame
Black MJ = Slightly credible

Anonymous | 2/16/2007, 2:54 am EST

MJ is and always was lame

Reid | 2/16/2007, 1:31 am EST

First of all, I don’t think this is MJ’s song, he’s lending back up vocals, also, what does he honestly have to prove anymore? He had the most succesful career in music and every single pop musician out there today is copying him and they know it. Sure new material would be great, but he’s given enough already to command your respect.

JD | 2/15/2007, 11:33 pm EST

when i was hanging around with a signed band way back, one of them said the record company wanted to hear 10 songs, then they said something like; “ok, now write thirty more!” and ten songs were then chosen out of those 40 songs…that is how a GREAT record is made…

Lexi W | 2/15/2007, 9:07 pm EST

WTF!!! Is this a fugees song or a MJ song. If its his song, why is he singing backup. If he wanted to be in the background, he should have redone rockwells “someones watching me” At least that song has a catchy chorus and somewhat of a good beat. Besides I thought MJ was a musical genius, this is a musical disaster. He should have just stayed locked up in his neverland ranch with peter pan and the lost boys.

objective | 2/15/2007, 8:57 pm EST

I like the song, and I hope Michael keeps making music. You all need to let the man do his thing and stop judging.

Maybe he suck, but Moonwalker was a great videogame…

Isaac | 2/15/2007, 7:41 pm EST

I don’t get it. If this is a new Michael Jackson song, why is Michael the background singer? Seriously, whoever’s rapping clearly has the lead in this song.

Also, in my opinion Michael’s early albums don’t prove he’s a great musician. They prove Quincy Jones is a great producer.

Chuck | 2/15/2007, 7:25 pm EST

I’ve never stopped being a fan of MJ’s music…but it’s not his career that needs help, it’s that damn face. If he wants a comeback, where a paper bag or something.

I have always been fan; I haven’t heard the new song but what a good move to advertise by going on myspace. Despite what some ignorant people might say, I know tons of adult celebrities on myspace its a business move one in which a familiar company like Google made for a reason, its shrewd. A great artist like a great player on a team will always shine with the right people around him hopefully timberland and Dr Dre.

Maciej | 2/15/2007, 4:50 pm EST

I did not listen to this song however I don’t think MJ is able to be so influencial artist as he was in 70 and 80. Now MJ is viewed as fallen star but it is impossible to over-evaluate his role in music.
