Earlier this week Abolute Punk reported that Fall Out Boy had the Number One album, Number One song, and Number One video on iTunes. The band continues to dominate by securing the Number One spot on the charts, selling 259,674 copies of their new album Infinity On High in its first week. The emo heartthrobs barely beat chart favorite Norah Jones, whose new album Not Too Late sold 235,687 copies, and scored the Number Two spot. Other noteworthy chart news: Hip-hop/emo dudes Gym Class Heroes are on the move with their album As Cruel As School Children. The record jumped from Number Ninety-Six on the charts to Number Fifty-Five this week, and sold 16,727 copies — a 67 percent increase from last week. Meanwhile, Bloc Party’s new disc Weekend in the City debuted at Number Twelve on the charts, selling 47,726 copies in its first week.
- Howard Stern is such a cheesy romantic. The legendary shock jock proposed to his long-time model girlfriend Beth Ostrosky last night, then announced it on his radio show this morning. Apparently Stern wooed her with this declaration: “I love you. You’re everything to me. This is so gay… I’m asking you to spend the rest of your life with me.” Aw!
- On May 8th, Kill Rock Stars will release New Moon, a collection of twenty-four Elliott Smith tunes recorded between 1994 and 1997. According to Billboard, New Moon will contain an early version of “Miss Misery” plus “an alternate take” of “Pretty Mary K.”
- We are extremely psyched about the news that our favorite campy punks, Art Brut, will be heading to the States this spring for a string of dates. The full list appears after the jump. Yes, it’s short, but we’ll take what they can give.
Art Brut’s North American Dates:

04-18 Brooklyn, NY – Studio B
04-19 Toronto, Ontario – The Mod Club
