THE SAINTS ARE COMING

i’m so excited that imogen heap has been nominated.

she has just exploded into the media this past year.

i’m so excited for her and i can’t wait to see what happens.

i really hope she grabs the grammy.

Red hot Chili Peppers should definitely win album of the year. We will never seen another album like this come out of rock for a while - I guarantee it.

Corinne Bailey Rae and Gnarls Barkley will be in a duel for best New Artist. I really like them both — both have fresh sounds that this world definitely needs to hear.

The fact that Imogen Heap is nominated for anything is amazing.

If Beyonce or Carrie Underwood win AGAIN, what can I say — politics, folks. and sheer mediocrity coupled with boredom.

I forgot to mention(I was in a rush)Pharrell winning Rap Album Of The Year? The creme de la cream.Yessir!

charliemapleton | 2/7/2007, 11:30 am EST

Corrine deserves to snag both Record Of The Year and Best New Artist accolades-she has that pure mysticism and finesse to her, personally and musically. You can’t go wrong with that.Justin snagging Album Of The Year(personally i’m going with Gnarls),I don’t mind.Showstealing performance?Could 98% be possible.Last but not least,Beyonce snagging another Grammy as golden and delightful as her?Priceless.Pharrell winning Rap Album Of The Year(even though it got lukewarm reviews, nonetheless this boy’s got heart-peep “Best Friend” and “I Really Like You”-SERIOUSLY).Overall wonderful people, shock the world…Not too outrageously.

where is blackfield??
for sure the best new artist of the year!

sean | 2/7/2007, 8:40 am EST

where is david gilmour? i thought he was nominated 4 castellorizion from the album “on an island”

Omar | 2/7/2007, 5:41 am EST

Some of these “artists” won’t be considered artists in a decade.

JD | 2/7/2007, 2:21 am EST

Well I think the album of the year category is going to be a joke this year. Everyone knows it’s going to Justin T-lake, even though thee album of the year is not even nominated, Dylan’s Modern Times. But I’d be happily surprised if St. Elsewhere ends up winning it.

Dave | 2/7/2007, 1:18 am EST

We are talking INDUSTRY AWARDS here folks. Just the fact that Imogen, Gnarls and Corinne even made it on the list gives us a slight hope for the future.

Carrie Underwood Rocks | 2/6/2007, 11:20 pm EST

If carrie underwood somehow loses to some unknown chic named corrine bailey rae, or something called an imogen heap- then there really is something wrong with grammy voters. I can see if james blunt wins as at least he is well known, but Carrie buried everyone in the category in terms of album sales (she sold over 5 million), chart success (4 number one hits off one album), and overall success this year. She is also the best vocalist of the group, with james blunt being the best songwriter. All nominees are talented- but Carrie is the best of the lot, and most likely to have a long successful career, rather than be a one hit wonder.

Betta Recognize | 2/6/2007, 10:28 pm EST

Shit. Most of it, just a bunch of plastic “not so fantastic” mickey mouse garbage. I love Imo girl, RHCP, and Corrine is divine, but has no spectrum of the COMPLETE music talent going on in 2007. Typical Music Suicide Awards!

Wow. If any suit-wearing person involved with the Grammmies knew how to use Wikipedia, Amazon, or any number of other sites, they’d discover Imogen Heap is not a “new artist.” Her first record “I Megaphone” was released in 1998. Unfortunately it wasn’t exactly a huge success, but it was released nationally in the US and she toured behind it, so I’m not sure how exactly eight years later she’s a “new artist.”

I hope she wins something though…”Speak For Yourself” was the best album I heard all last year.

Corey | 2/6/2007, 12:22 pm EST

I, for one, am pretty pumped to see Imogen Heap on there for best new artist. a little bit of indie love.

even though she probably will lose to James Blunt or Carrie Underwood, damnit.

charliemapleton | 2/6/2007, 12:05 pm EST

Despite it maybe tiring to some(like myself)to see another grand piano playing guru grab umpteenth more Grammys,i’m gonna smooth it out and go for John Legend.Simply being he’s just a very sensational, sophisticated spirit,so all eyes are on him.
Luda,Mary, and Gnarls are gonna nail it too. What does Mary have-8 or 9 Grammy nominations?I know it’s not necessary since she’s already The Queen, but give her a crown for good measure. This girl is killin’ it!

ken vail jr. | 2/6/2007, 12:01 pm EST

well i do wanna tune in to see THE POLICE reunion 4 sure.

ken vail jr. | 2/6/2007, 12:00 pm EST

ah the usual bitter cynicism on rollingstone.com….LOL! i do like ‘dani california’-that is a great song and video too.

this list gives me dry heaves. | 2/6/2007, 10:42 am EST

Crap - all of it.
I won’t be patronizing the grammys.
