Bjork Set A Date? Vista’s Got Issues, Destruction of All Things Cool Continues

bjork

  • That Bjork is so sneaky. Everyone’s favorite punk rock sprite has reportedly subtly suggested that on May 7th she will release her long-awaited new album. She has done this by including the date 07.05.07 – New Album (tbc) on the list of upcoming releases and appearances on her Web site, Pitchfork reports. But looking at the site now, we only see this: XX.0X.07. Sigh. What does it all mean!?
  • Slowly but surely, apparently, the track list for NIN new album Year Zero (due out April 17th) will appear on this site. So far we know that the second song is titled “The Beginning of the End.” Ominous. We like it. [via Blabbermouth]
  • If you are Microsoft Vista user and you love your iPod, hang in there. Apple has announced a series of problems for those trying to run iTunes with Vista, but they expect to resolve them via new versions of iTunes shortly.
  • Storied British venue The Hammersmith Palais will reportedly be demolished in order to build yet another office building. Worse, Kasabian will be one of the last two acts to ever play the place. These are dark days.
  • Swizz Beatz’s forthcoming solo album, One Man Band, will apparently feature collaborations with … Coldplay. The band apparently helped him out on a song called “Part Of The Plan.” When is all this music scene incest going to stop?
  • Will the Beatles top the charts once more? According to an industry source, if the band’s catalogue is made available for download, they might find themselves with hit records again. “No one knows how powerful the sales of downloads may be. But half a billion pounds is not out of the question,” the source apparently postulated. “If hundreds of thousands of people start downloading entire Beatles albums, the entire Top 40 could be Fab Four songs now that downloads are taken into account.”

‘If hundreds of thousands of people start downloading entire Beatles albums, the entire Top 40 could be Fab Four songs now that downloads are taken into account.’

That would be the happiest day of my life!

I own all the LPs and CDs, but I would dowload a few just to see this happen.

The music business is not dead, but the old model is…this would just prove that point.

no one but pompous retards give a shit about bjork.

“The Beginning of the End”

*sigh* I keep hoping that Reznor will eventually mature but with titles like this it doesn’t seem like it will ever happen…

Beatles legal downloads will be a monumental day but more symbolic than financial. Most iPod owners are only actually buying about 20 songs a year max — the rest they’re ripping from CD’s and getting from shared files. Plus the fact that the Beatles fan base is still significantly older and therefore less prone to download — plus don’t we already own all the Beatles albums anyway?

The Beatles download are reportedly the remastered versions of their albums with vastly improved sound from that of the current CD’s(out since 1987). This is the reason that more people may be downloading them.

I for one, am THRILLED at the aspect of that ancient catalog being revamped and sounding better than ever. We got a HINT of what it could be with YELLOW SUBMARINE SONGTRACK, WHITE ALBUM, LET IT BE… NAKED, ONE, and LOVE. GREAT sound! Not to mention the Capitol Box sets, which sound very crisp! I don’t know about downloading them and paying Itunes when I’m just going to buy them outright when they are released on cd format. I’m very glad Apple finally got off their dead commercialized overpriced asses and caught up with the new changes in sonic technology already! I think it’s great in one respect and can’t wait to hear what they sound like all gussied up and 2007 sounding! And of course the cash cow will once again be in full effect for the 2 surviving members and the 2 spouses of the deceased. More money for Yoko to blow on her “art.”

It’s amazing tha NIN would come out with a new record so soon. Usually it takes him about 5-10 years between recordings.

BJORK IS AN UGLY CVNT WHORE! | 2/6/2007, 7:41 pm EST

HOPE SHE DIES OF COLON CANCER!

midevil | 2/6/2007, 7:54 pm EST

I like Bjork. Not really into the Beatles. Hmm, I think Trent Reznor has matured a lot…

Bjorkslayssillytwats | 2/7/2007, 12:55 am EST

Hey, “Bjork is an ugly cvnt whore” or whatever you so cleverly call yourself. You ARE a colon. Pathetic little misogynist creep. At least she’s made hit records that have been beloved by many, if not by twats like you have done, dickbreath? Moron.

JD | 2/7/2007, 2:28 am EST

Who really gives a damn about Bjork anyway, she and her swan outfit. That’s what people think of when they think of Bjork. Oh her cleavage too.

miccc | 2/7/2007, 9:31 am EST

Now that the Beatles have capitulated will Led Zeppelin follow. They are the 2 top selling bands of all time.
