We all love to laugh, but Coke’s Mean Joe Green commercial has endured through its unfailing ability to make the toughest guy tear up every time. (Technically, it debuted the following year, but since it also aired during the Super Bowl, we just don’t have it in our hearts to leave it off the list.) We all remember that moment as a kid when we discovered that our heroes were really money-grubbing assholes. And we can also remember this ad giving us hope that a Coke and a smile could change everything. Who needs a hug?
