If you’re a good little Rolling Stone reader, you’ll know all about Deerhoof by now. After all, we featured them as a “Breaking” band in the new issue on stands now. But just in case you need further reassurance of their awesomeness, take a look at this exclusive clip, which features the lovable indie-rockers onstage at NYC’s Irving Plaza performing “+81″ from their latest album, Friend Opportunity.

I try to have an open mind when it comes to music, and I don’t think it’s ever appropriate to insult anyone’s creative expression … but I’m a little confused here …

Ok,they have to be related to Yoko Ono. How can you honestly say this total crap is talent??? This is just ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!

Deerhoof is living proof that experimental doesn’t translate to talented. At best they sound like a garage band with a quirky girl singer (?).

What! ddddeeerrrrrhooof, are well old, catch up. although they are amazing yes, but breaking no!
millertron | 1/30/2007, 7:49 pm EST
rolling stones idea of breaking is when an established band comes out with a commercially viable album.
Radiohead’s probably about to breakout too. Beatles probably broke out with their Love album last year.
No wonder they call their readers little! All rolling stone does is throw out stupid what ifs on this website and then get people to write about it…too bad they cant present thought provoking articles anymore.

My website address was already on the rollingstone page before I checked in. Just wanted to say that Apartheid is making a steady and slow come back. They spent 15 years re-naming themselves, and selling more junk than they ever did before. Were they pro Emperor of Japan, I wonder?
etc etc
peace bro.

They are currently “breaking” more out of their shell–out onto the scene. Well done video, bout time we saw some concert footage on this thing.

Breaking? They’ve been around for, like, 12 years.
