FOB is one of the biggest internet bands out there? Crap, I thought miracle jackson, and those kids that cover the HALO songs were. Anyhoo, yes comparitvely FOB is one of the biggest internet bands out there amongst other bands like As I lay dying, Senses Fail, Halifax, Chiodos and any other generic brand o music you can think of. Were this a few years ago, I do not think anybody would care. Infact nobody does except 13 year old girls. Alkaline Trio accepted the same fate , but there is/was one difference. At one time they were actually REALLY good, and possibly, they changed the whole punk/emo game because Matt likes to cry about aurora and 97.

This is an outrage, not just for FOB fans, but for mankind in general. So much was hinging on this album not being leaked that now that is has been, I doubt that anything will ever be the same. While I have never been part of a major-label band, and I honestly probably wouldn’t if the chance came up… But if I were Poor Pete - this is what I would do:

I would try and discuss my panged observations on life and the music industry with my bandmates - when those cries fell on deaf ears I would have but only one other option - to disband and call it quits, encouraging my “rockin” bandmates to do the same, never to again record a note so long as they live. Yeah, that’s precisely what I would do IF I WERE HIM.

I Had a leak copy of The Libertines 2nd Album almost 6 months before it came out and that freakin album was everywhere (and it was really good). My Point is that leaks allow people to make a judgment whether they like an album enough to purchase it. After 6 months of loving the Libertines self titled I bought both a vinyl and cd copy. If Sales and Marketing don’t like this new trend tough-tits.

PS: Fall out boy is for middle school girls… They don’t download leaked records anyway do they?

this guy keeps hitting a new low every time there’s news of him. and why is he the only one of them complaining? because he’s the absolute famewhore, that’s why, trying to get fans to sympathize with his “pain” and all that shit. well, boohoo!

thank god the other three guys in the band (yes, there are other guys in the band and who’d i like to believe are the ones with the real talent) are smart enough to keep their mouth shut, because the truth is, these days, album leaks on the internet help artists gain even more album sales eventually. it makes music reach out to more and more people, the way it should be. i wouldn’t be eagerly awaiting bloc party’s new album if i didn’t get hold of some of the songs that were leaked somewhere — and yes, i will be buying the physical CD of the album, don’t worry, when it comes out (and when it fits my budget). that’s the beauty of getting free music off the ‘Net! it gives you a preview of great things to come and you’re left wanting more… so you skip a lunch or two, shell out a few bucks to buy the CD knowing it will be worth it. free music on the internet isn’t the enemy (music that sucks, like fob’s, is though). and pete, being in one of the biggest rock bands in the internet right now, should know that.

Biggest leak in music history= Kid A, no doubt about it. Pete Wentz, I haven’t heard your turd of a record yet, but I can assure you it is no Kid A.

If the Rolling Stones showed us anything, it’s that bands make their money on the road. I got news for ya, this leak didn’t hurt sales. People who found this album online would have found it online after its release as well. Stop crying.

And also…this is far from the biggest leak in the history of music. Are people that excited about the follow up to Under the Cork Tree (a decent, far from spectacular album)?

I hope it does so bad that their next c.d will be a collection of karaoke hits found exclusively in the $5.99 discount bin.

why do we need so many updates about this “story” this week? Their album leaked and they’re upset about it. We get it. We don’t need reminders. It’s not important.

The music being leaked won’t hurt sales for their real fan, but it kinda sucks for the promotional schedule and trying to create a buzz.

I think bands should release 2-3 songs as a leak on i-tunes (like the Rolling Stones did)to cut this down.

In the end, all of their crying over this is just more publicity, ’cause I barely knew who they were before this
