Arcade Fire Tease “Contemporary Classics” Via Megaphone, YouTube

1/8/07, 2:01 pm EST

With this mock-umercial, The Arcade Fire prove they have both a sense of humor…and a Juno Award! The Canadian indie outfit literally goes commercial with this tongue-in-cheek and scary-mask-sporting, Richard Reed Perry-delivered introduction to their new album, Neon Bible. The CD’s scheduled to hit stores March 6th, but you can get a ‘70s-style sampling of a few new songs (and the full tracklist, which appears after the jump), introduced by a motionless (and oddly mouthless) Perry who’s seated with a megaphone in one hand and his Juno in the other. And though it’s not nearly enough to judge, we’ll all be doing so anyway. How do these songlets sound to you?

1. Black Mirror
2. Keep The Car Running
3. Neon Bible
4. Intervention
5. Black Wave / Bad Vibrations
6. Ocean of Noise
7. The Well & The Lighthouse
8. (Antichrist Television Blues)
9. Windowsill
10. No Cars Go
11. My Body Is A Cage

So looking forward to this … someone needs to give The Killers and Panic at the Disco an advanced copy - Seeeeeeee - this is what real music sounds like

the songs don’t sound bad but as far as mockumercials go, that was pretty lame.

Hey that wasn’t tooo bad, I am not a big indie fan or whatever but that video clip w/tunes is ok.

I wish that they’d add a new song instead of recycling No Cars Go, but this’ll still be a great album.

This is going to be oh so great! Can’t wait! AF probably created the best 1st album ever for a band and they have a lot to live up to….But i have faith that they will succeed (based on the first 2 songs they “released”)
