With their cover of the gloriously schmaltzy Barbara Lewis classic “Baby I’m Yours,” the Arctic Monkeys join The Paramounts, Tanya Tucker, and Cher on the list of artists who’ve recorded their own version of this song. The Monkeys’ version is quickly making its way to the top of this list illustrious list. With their incongruous Sheffield accents (”yours until the moontain croombles to the sea” Turner croons) and their earnest harmonizing, the band manages to sound both polished and wide-eyed, which is totally charming.
