Here’s Hoping for a Happy Wu Year

12/27/06, 1:48 pm EST

Raekwon, Rza, U-God, Wu-Tang ClanThe Wu-Tang Clan coming together is as powerful as a fully formed Voltron. So get ready to once again raise that iron flag as news has leaked that the Wu will start recording in the new year with plans for a late 2007 album release and accompanying tour.

The last couple of years have been intense for the tribe from Staten Island: Ol’ Dirty Bastard passed away, U-God left the group, Method Man starred in a failed sitcom with Redman and released two mediocre solo albums, U-God rejoined the group, RZA wrote the Wu-Tang Manuel, Ghostface Killah released the incredible Fishscale, and a majority of the gang reunited for sporadic live performances.

Expectations will certainly be high, especially since the presence of the enigmatic Ol’ Dirty will be missing from this effort. I’m expecting this to be their darkest and most brutal album.

I’m yet still so young…
But, I’ll miss the “Godfather of Soul”… Bless him wherever he’s performs… Until… The end of
Eternity…

any album that lets us hear more from Ghostface, Raekwon, Inspecta Deck or GZA is cause for celebration in my book. The fact that it’s on a full-Wu album is even better. Ol’ Dirty will be sorely missed however.

cold hard soundscapes over fierce beats. if they can bring that, it’ll be a true Wu album…

Ghostface Killah is the only one worth a damn anymore

The Wu-Tang, even despite their very ostensible flops, remain the single hip hop entity in the past ten or so years that has spawned cult-status loyalty. There is a reason behind this.

The gang’s back together again,and I don’t mean on the Peanuts tip.Just quality spitfire rhymes,beanie caps,hoodies,and gutter beats…Shaolin style!

If that’s not enough icing on the cake for y’all, next year will be the 10th anniversary of “Wu Tang Forever”.

I am extrememly happy to hear this news.. Truth be told, I couldn’t be whiter than I am and I am just tickled to hear those crazy kiddies will be scaring the mutherfuckin shit out of us again!
It’s about time hip hop got CREATIVE again – this thug bullshit that people are high on doesn’t hold a candle to what RZA and the boys create… I HOPE IT WILL BE THE JUMPOFF, SON!! – can I say that, being a Banker?

James Brown is duetting his first gig in heaven with ODB.. Rick James is on base, I mean bass and Jam Master Jay is holding it down
