This is a major problem, and YES, you idiots, soldiers are held to a higher moral standard. They are our more visible representatives over there, so just as politicians are supposed to have a higher standard, so are our soldiers. And this definitely can have an effect on the war.

This will feed the insurgency — essentially, Americans saying they hate Iraq. If the soldiers had gotten the kids to say “F*ck Saddam,” it’d be a different story, but we’re supposed to be supporting Iraq as a country, not demeaning it. This is insulting and galvanizing to those in Iraq who fight us. A few American soldiers have messed up again, giving this country a bad name there and making the war that much more impossible to fight.

Let’s not look into it too much. A little distastefull, but it does show that the young kids look up to and seem to love the US troops. If we were really pillaging, terrorizing, and occupying, like some people try to say, I don’t think the Iraqi kids would act that positively towards the troops.
