- There are many things to love about Carl Barat: His songwriting talent, the impossibly cool boots he wears, his admirable unwillingness to shit-talk a certain drug-doing, model-banging, train wreck of a former bandmate. Pete, on the other hand, does not return the favor (and his boots aren’t nearly as cool). Doherty has reportedly said that the only thing he misses about Barat is the great crack he used to score for Pete, and that Barat’s new band, Dirty Pretty Things, suck, especially when compared to Doherty’s Babyshambles. “We really got it. All he’s got is the fact that he was in the best band and now he’s in the worst band. And he needs to sort that out,” Doherty reportedly sniffed.
- We planned on being highly amused by these for-fan-club-only, happy holidays-wishing videos from Metallica (part 1, part 2). But they are so long we couldn’t deal after a while. Still, it is really funny to hear Lars wishing everybody “Happy holidays” and “Happy new year” in Danish. [via Blabbermouth]
- The NME is reporting that Bright Eyes will release their new album Cassadaga on April 9. We don’t know what “Cassadaga” refers to, but Google tells us it is the name of a town in Florida famous for its mediums, so that sounds promising.
- Gwen Stefani feels nursing gives her “superhuman powers,” longs for second child, (better: second record).
- Yoko Ono’s insane long-time driver Koral Karsan — a Turkish immigrant who decided to blackmail and physically threaten Ono on the recent anniversary of John Lennon’s death – has posted bail, but is being detained because immigration officials are investigating his status. This dude is so getting shipped home to Turkey.
