Ringo Threatens to “Tell All,” Courtney Semi-Nude, Making Up With Madge and More

12/18/06, 3:28 pm EST

Ringo Starr

  • Ringo Starr apparently plans to “tell all” in a forthcoming documentary. The project will consist in part of Starr speaking with industry insiders (like Sir George Martin) who know him well, and is set to air on British TV sometime next year.
  • Courtney Love will reportedly be the subject of a new book by genius designer/celebrity tastemaker Hedi Slimane, in which a collection of semi-nude shots will be interspersed with journal-like-material. Love would also like to make up with Madonna (they were fighting?) and Madonna (who figures we haven’t suffered enough via her attempts at acting) will next try her hand at directing? That’s your crazy rock blondes update for the day.
  • Avril Lavigne promises you will totally LOVE her new record, The Best Dam Thing out in April. (Disclaimer: We did not add those caps, she did).
  • If Fall Out Boy’s fans were any more involved with the band they would literally be writing the group’s music. Later today all members of the FOB fan club will apparently be sent lyrics to a new, as of yet untitled Fall Out Boy song, and will be given the chance to bestow upon the track the perfect (sufficiently wordy) title.
  • Tour news: Jeff Tweedy will use a short little winter solo tour as a break from recording Wilco’s new record. Jamie Foxx will also reportedly be touring – apparently merging stand-up with playing music — and has booked Fantasia as his opening act. We suspect that scene will be absurd, but in a (totally uncharacteristic and temporary) move we are reserving judgment.

I would love it if RS stopped reporting bullshit “news” from Fallout Boy. This is obviously one of the worst excuses for music to come around in a long time, and hiding behind the guise of self-importance and emo yearning does not make it any more real or redeaming. Fucking who cares?

I’m thrilled Ringo will be telling his story. He has charm and was in the middle of the cyclone for so many years. His voice has been relatively mute, this should be quite interesting if well done.

Fire Goodman!

Fall Out Boy makes music, and they make news, just like any other band regardless of your perception of their talent. Let it go.

Banjo | 12/19/2006, 9:45 am EST

I don’t like Fall Out Boy…that being said:
Fall Out Girl, the band named themselves after a fictional superhero from The Simpsons, give the feminism a rest.
