When Dylan Is Concerned We All Worry, New NIN Maybe, Possibly Already Done? And More

  • The New York Post is reporting that Bob Dylan will sue the makers of upcoming (and already problem plagued) Edie Sedgwick biopic Factory Girl. The script allegedly suggests that the character based on Dylan (called Danny Quinn) was responsible for the Warhol star’s suicide. Dylan reportedly has “deep concerns” about this, and no one wants Dylan deeply concerned.
  • Trent Reznor thinks he may have finished writing another NIN record. It took him years of internal battle (and sobriety) to get around to recording With Teeth, but now he’s apparently on a roll. “Juggling fifteen all-new tracks around. Testing sequences. No leftovers from With Teeth” he writes on the band’s site. “Highly conceptual. Quite noisy. Fucking cool.” TOTALLY fucking cool. [via Blabbermouth]
  • We never thought a blonde dude could pull off 007, but he did (this time around at least). Perhaps the Killers will have the same luck with the Bond theme they are reportedly considering recording. No exitludes please.
  • Does anyone even want to own this rare VU record anymore? We feel it’s been vaguely tarnished by this false eBay bid drama, but they are the Velvet Underground so … Anyway it’s back up for sale.
  • You know how sometimes you’re in a taxi somewhere and it occurs to you your driver might be insane? Yoko Ono’s driver really may be a pathological lunatic. Her long-time driver has allegedly been arrested for attempting to blackmail Ono and threatening her life. The failed shakedown apparently went down on this year’s recent anniversary of John Lennon’s death. People are scary and cruel.

Goodman that would have been nice work on NIN if it were several weeks ago…

“We never thought a blonde dude could pull off 007″ What? have you ever seen Bond? You F’ing TWIT!

not this Travis guy again!
what’s wrong with you?! Lizzie’s comment makes perfect sense. Craig is the FIRST blonde Bond! he’s playing the role completely different from every actor before him! i assume that, because you’re typing, you have a brain: so use it once in a while!

Exitlude was one of the best songs on the album

Also, i wwant to find out more about Dylan “possibly” being responsible for Sedgwick’s suicide. that sounds interesting. any truth to it?

DrJ | 12/14/2006, 10:50 am EST

I think Dylan should be given credit for the fact that the song he wrote about Edie Sedgwick after humping and dumping her (”Just Like a Woman”) wasn’t nearly as nasty as the one Lou Reed wrote about her (”Femme Fatale”)(perhaps she wouldn’t sleep with Lou?)

People criticizing The Killers for their sophomore album differing from their first are completely missing the mark. And comparing them to Springsteen? No one can live up to that comparison.

Yep, too bad Sam’s Town wasn’t just a complete duplicate of Hot Fuss. Darn. It would be so easy and non-threatening if everyone just recorded the same record over and over again.

Hey… I liked the “Exitlude.”

“Yep, too bad Sam’s Town wasn’t just a complete duplicate of Hot Fuss.”

I’m hoping for a spring/summer release of “the new nin record.” according to the nin website mixing begins in january!

There’s only one person responsible for a someone’s suicide… otherwise, it’s called manslaughter or murder. Dylan should just chill out.

I think Dylan or anyone else who might happen to know the truth has the right, even the obligation- to be “concerned”- especially if the movie is a pile of crap.
