- We’re forecasting lots of “it’s just such an honor to be nominated” speeches in Beyonce’s future as she’s just been selected as one of the nominees for a Golden Globe alongside the likes of Annette Bening and Meryl Streep in the Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical category. Honestly, she’ll never win but we hear she’s great in Dreamgirls and totally deserves the recognition, even if her new album bores us.
- Remember yesterday when we wrote that you could possibly still get tickets to this summer’s Diana tribute concert? Now not so much. Not only has eBay reportedly banned sales of the tickets on their site (out of respect?) but Elton John has announced that he will perform his Diana version of Candle in the Wind — for the first time since he sang it at her funeral in 1997 — at the event. “I’ll do it if the Princes want me to … I am at their service,” he reportedly said.
- Phil Lesh will pay for your blood. He won’t pay YOU for your blood, however. He’ll reportedly make a donation to the Detroit’s Vattikuti Urology Institute in the amount of ten dollars for every pint of blood he helps collect. Everyone needs a hobby.
- One embezzlement suit victory down, one murder trial to go. Phil Spector reportedly recently reached a tentative $900,000 settlement in his lawsuit against a former assistant, whom he said embezzled more than $1 million from him.
- The stage has been set for the sure-to-be-epic air guitaring duel to take place between Stephen Colbert and the Decemberists. The event will air on
Pay-Per-ViewComedy Central on Wednesday, December 20th at 11:30 pm. Isn’t the winner pretty clear?
