
- According to Rufus Wainwright’s Web site, his new album will be self-produced (though the Pet Shop Boys’ Neil Tenant will serve as executive producer) and will be called Release The Stars. It’s out in the spring. (Stars are best released in the spring). [via NME]
- Rule: Those of us who may have been humiliated (or whatever) in the Borat movie can not sue unless your scene actually made the final cut. Some dude Borat embarrasses – while posing as a bathroom attendant – by staring at him while he urinates is apparently suing the star, though only the most ardent fans would have seen the clip since it didn’t appear in the movie.
- The new Bond flick has reportedly inspired The Streets’ Mike Skinner to go gambling, then give his £1,020 winnings away. This is where we all say in unison: Guess a grand DOES come for free.
- Shakira both ups her cred with the literati and performs good community service by launching a child poverty prevention center in Panama City with famed author (and fellow Colombian) Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
