Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Still Clapping, Still Saying Yeah On New Album?

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah have posted details regarding their new album Some Loud Thunder on their MySpace page. And by “posted details” we mean they’ve confirmed Some Loud Thunder will be the title, confirmed they will be virtually self-releasing the record just like they did with their debut, and listed all eleven tracks that make up the album (list after the jump).

Whatever. The real question about this record is: Will it rock? After their self-titled first disc was met with an explosion of (well-deserved) critical adoration, even hardcore label-less DIY hipsters are bound to feel some pressure making Record Number Two.

You can listen to two of the new songs — “Satan Said Dance” and “Underwater (You and Me)” — streaming on MySpace, plus a couple others scattered about on the band’s Web site. Tell us how it sounds to you. Thanks.

1. Some Loud Thunder
2. Emily Jean Stock
3. Mama, Won’t You Keep Them Castles in the Air and Burning?
4. Love Song No.7

5. Satan Said Dance

6. Upon Encountering the Crippled Elephant
7. Goodbye to Mother and the Cove
8. Arm and Hammer
9. Yankee Go Home
10. Underwater (You and Me)
11. Five Easy Pieces

To the person who said they suck, why do you think they suck? Does it have to do with their music, or someone’s reaction to their music? Unless its the former, you’re a moron. The music stands on its own, and I’ll go so far as saying Upon This Tidal Wave is amazing.

I’ve heard of them, but I never really paid much attention to their first album, figuring it would be good but nothing great. Is it a great, must-have record? Maybe someone could give me a “you’ll like Clap Your Hands if you like ___” so I can kinda get where they stand musically. Thanks guys and gals.

both songs sound great. There’s no drastic downfall or change to their sound. Just the same ol’ stuff that we like.

I wish I could hear those tracks, but for some reason my Adobe Flashplayer is fukd, which means I can’t listen to any songs on MySpace, or even worse watch all the hilarious clips on YouTube… Someone help me!
But I’m sure the new Clap-songs are Xellent
