i just bought the CD on a whim and im really surprised to like it. it has the right mix of songs, there’s some kick-ass hard rock songs, some nice slow rock songs and some mainstream ones that’ll definitely crossover. amazing album from someone who came from American Idol! i wish him success!

I have a friend who’s a flight attendant for Southwest and was staying at the same hotel as Chris back when he was still on Idol. She said how he was hitting on all the flight attendants and inviting some of them up his room to “hang out”. It’s a shame for his wife, or soon to be ex-wife, that before he was a star, he started acting like one.

It really is, shall we say interesting, to see the vile, shallow comments from people whose lives have so little meaning that they have to trash talk a really good guy and very talented musician. He may or may not make it, that’s still TBD, but having listened to the CD myself, it’s purely NickelFuelStaindCreedBack. I won’t be buying it. Perhaps the next CD will reveal more of the authenticity of the artist in his own natural state, but this one just isn’t doin’ it for me. Sorry all.

This is one of the BEST CDs I have bought in a long time. I can see why Chris’ CD is the #1 in downloads beating out Jay-Z because it is such a fantastic CD.

I loved the commercial of Prison Break using the song “It’s Not Over” in its promos for the season finale. What a great song. Billboard gave the song its highest rating.

I predict Chris’ CD will be multi-platinum.

I think the negative comments are born out of the frustration with the herd mentality perpetuated by the recording industry. The easiest sell is always heavily promoted and we as consumers wind up with average artists that sound just like their predecessors (at least until the next trend emerges). Nothinig against Chris but this album does sound exactly like the artists who helped write it and inspire it.

Originality is not his strong suit and overcoming the American Idol bias with discriminating music fans will be nearly impossible. He might get his own voice if he is successful and can cut the strings of his management and creative teams to do his own thing but it is very inlikely that will happen. He is at best a 4th generation performer for his particular style of music. Pearl Jam begets Creed begets Nickelback begets Chris…

I LOVE this CD. Chris has something for everyone on this AMAZING CD. He is AWESOME, HOT, TALENTED, and is going to the TOP! I am PROUD to be a fan of this AMAZING man, who loves rock, his wife and family, his fans, and GOD.

Yea, I gotta agree with some of the group, and I do mean some, because the personal attacks just are so unnecessary. That being said, my wife and I couldn’t wait for this album to drop. Now that it’s finally here, I have to same I’m really disappointed. This is rock? It sounds a helluva lot more power pop to me. There are maybe two good songs outta the bunch, but that’s about it for me. We already have Nickelback, Staind, etc. This group is gonna need something more to stick around, long-term. And I gotta agree with Joe on two points, being a family man doesn’t make you talented, hell, if that were the case I could get myself a nice gig and secondly the name-droppin’ is annoying as hell. Stand out on your own, write your shit and sing. Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Dylan managed it, but they’re a dying breed. Now there’s longevity for ya.

I Would have to agree with simon on this one, as rude and offensive as the things he says are, atleast he does what your parents wont. I mean why even put your kid through the agony and pain of hearing it when you wont even tell them yourself. Makes me laugh that you guys won’t consider my story to be true. I’m not some punk kid making stuff up to upset people, just repeating what my flight attendant neighbor(who 40 years old with two kids and a husband) told me. I’m not getting this stuff off the Web or whatever and spewing it back out. I liked Chris a lot on Idol and was looking forward to his album, but hearing how he acted with my neighbor and her fellow attendants made me not feel like I want to support him. I am not an American Idol watcher and had my doubts about anyone who came from that show being about to put out a good rock album but… This guy has done it!!! My friend gave me her cd to listen to and I couldn’t stop listening to it. When she wanted her cd back, I ran right out and got mine own. It really does kick ass and it has a good variety of music. Some rocking shit, and then softer stuff. I think we will be hearing alot from this band for a long long time. Every song on the CD is great and that is unusual!!! Can’t wait to see them live. Look forward to everything they do! Also, he worked with alot of well established writers, but choose not to use the songs that they wrote and went with the songs he wrote. He wrote or co-wrote all but 2 songs on the album. Very impressive!!!!

warhand, i hate to single u out, but ur off base by a lot. i dont know if ur still on this site…but daughtry’s album is now up to 615,000 sold just in the u.s. in three weeks…furthermore, this is not just an AI guy…i am from charlottesville and saw him playing live almost ten years ago with cadence…go buy their CD and tell me what u think…then he moved to NC and started absent element…go listen to that CD please…yeah, OBVIOUSLY he’s appealing to a different fanbase…that’s how u get huge…when this record is over, do not be a bit surprised if u hear heavier rock, as he will have gained TOTAL control over his sound and musical career.

I started watching Idol for amusement and I was blown away. This kid is it right here, right now. The best I have run across in years. His sound is not Nickel/Fuel/Creed although I enjoy them too. Chris Daughtry is his own sound. So while you children are changing your diapers, I will be watching Daughtry’s career skyrocket.
