
- Today is Michael Jackson day. The gloved one will be performing tonight at the World Music Awards in London, and the hotel in which he’s staying has apparently erected an eighteen-foot wall to provide extra privacy for the star.
- Beirut has apparently cancelled their remaining tour dates due to “extreme exhaustion.” A statement reportedly said: “The band hopes to reschedule some of the shows in the future. Zach, meanwhile, is attempting to channel the spirit of Jacques Brel using a cowbell and a gong.” Okay …
- It’s a random Wednesday in November, time for eight new Ryan Adams records. Who doesn’t want to hear Ryan cover Creed’s “Higher” while going by the name “WereWolph?” [via Stereogum]
- We have a massive love for PJ Harvey in general, and her new Peel Sessions record is really excellent. It’s currently streaming here. Check it out.
- As per usual, Bono wins. This time he (and the band) have won the court case against that sticky-fingered stylist. Now she has to give back Bono’s hat.
- Kellie Pickler – you know that blonde country singer from American Idol who is not Carrie Underwood – confessed to US Weekly that not only was her father a drug-doing felon, but her mother abused her physically and emotionally. Hang in there Kellie.
