Playlist of the Day: Rudy Can’t Fail

11/15/06, 8:02 am EST

Rudy

We have mixed feelings about a President Giuliani (he cleaned up our streets here in NYC but we liked them better dirty), so we’re gathering songs about his not-shocking decision to run for president.

  • “Power In His Blood” – FFH
  • “If I Were President” – Pharcyde
  • “Mr. President (Have Pity on the Working Man)” – Randy Numan
  • “A Message to You Rudy” – The Specials
  • “Rudy Got Soul” – Desmond Dekker & The Aces

I’m sorry anonymous Rolling Stone author, but no real New Yorkers liked the city better back in the 1980s and early 90s. Moving into your comfortable SoHo loft in 2000 does not give you the perspective to lament the crime infested days of old as though you actually lived through them. New York went from a complete shithole to the greatest city in the world thanks to Rudy. I’d like to see him do that with the country as a whole.

Comment about “we liked them (streets) better dirty” is pretty dumb. A 10th grade attempt to sound hip, unless you truly enjoy garbage and crime.

anonymous | 11/17/2006, 12:11 am EST

My main issue with him was his lack of regard for civil rights and over-fixatedness with the law. Not to mention that he’s seriously black and white on many issues.

Listen …. anybody, Anythig, is better than Hillary Clinton. Does anyone really want those lying, pandering, immoral, crooked hicks living back in the White House. Hell, they’ll have to re-furnish ’cause they stole most of the furniture in 2000. Please. Not again. Leave her in New York where she ‘belongs’.
