Yeah he still Rocks!!!! He knows his history….Sam Cooke, Otis Redding. He always pays respect to them and he still gets eaten up with the song, vibe, music and is in the moment when on stage singing. Very Rock-n-Roll. Please do and album and tour with Ronnie Wood………….already!!!!

    Scott | 11/14/2006, 9:41 am EST

    Stewart who?

    weasel | 11/14/2006, 10:57 am EST

Rod can rock out, or at least I would suspect he can. We can’t tell from the latest album, which is a scam. But if he wants to actually make good music again, he’ll ditch Clive Davis and do what he does best–write and rock.

    evilizac | 11/14/2006, 11:02 am EST

We need to give ole Woody a chance to do some writing again. I suspect Rod can’t rock but I’d like to be proven wrong… I just bought a Faces shirt off ebay.

    Jackie Coleman | 11/14/2006, 11:03 am EST

Didn’t Jjames Blunt take his job?
You need Rod in the industry…Most women/men over 40 dont know how to use an Ipod. They buy CD’s. You could package Rod doing Run DMC outtakes and the bitches would buy it.It’s good for business
    In Rod We Trust

    Jack D | 11/14/2006, 11:32 am EST

He was only good with the Faces.

    Zachra | 11/14/2006, 11:56 am EST

What the hell? Cohen has done interviews as himself before. One was on the Daily Show.

    nick | 11/14/2006, 1:10 pm EST

I don’t know if Rod Stewart rocks now, but he was pretty damn good on Jeff Beck’s ablum “Truth”

    Johnny Hardcock | 11/14/2006, 1:19 pm EST

It’s been so unhip to like Rod for the last three decades. He just needs to like the electric guitar again.

    DFUL | 11/14/2006, 2:52 pm EST

ROD CAN STILL ROCK-JUST LOOK AT HIS LIVE CONCERTS-BUT HE’S BEEN COASTING WAY TOO LONG! GET THE FACES BACK OUT ON TOUR AND RECORD SOME NEW STUFF WITH RONNIE-NO ONE WOULD EVER ASK THAT QUESTION AGAIN…

    heavyhitter | 11/14/2006, 5:38 pm EST

Just listen to your heart :)

    STRATCAT | 11/14/2006, 6:39 pm EST

Rod has lost his balls along the way with all of this big band material that he’s been doing which he has no room doing.
He should leave that to Sinatra.
Rod needs to get with Ronnie Wood and the rest of the remaining Faces and get wild and maybe get his ass whipped then maybe he’ll snap out of his middle age poop rut.
Neil Young can still rock and so can The Boss so there’s no reason why Rod can’t do it but his current album sounds like an old man singing rock as if he was Robert Goulet.
Rod get your balls back and maybe you can rock again.
    Cheers!

Rod has always been a great singer. Of course, his records aren’t as compelling as they were in his heyday, but he still has the voice. I saw him live in 2001-I had never heard so many hits in one show!

    Steve | 11/15/2006, 5:51 pm EST

Rod can always make tons of money selling out arenas across the globe, but 50 years from now he has to realize that The Captain and the Kid will hold far much greater weight than his own recent karaoke CD. It’s a shame Rod continues to put commercial success over artistic integrity. Even his early ’90s return to roots was commercially motivated – MTV Unplugged was red hot commercially at the time. The unplugged album, A Spanner in the Works, and When We Were the New Boys are the last decent albums we’ll probably ever get from Rod the Mod. And that’s a shame.

I have enjoyed ROD STEWART for 30 years now and have never been disappointed (except with the fact that I’m not the blonde on his arm). I have seen him 7 times in concert and have always come to the conclusion, ROD CAN STILL ROCK IT! The music business is so hard to be a success at — and remain a success for years and years. He has. He has marketed himself very well and is smart about doing the classic old-time songs that his parents used to love (American Songbook collection). Give the man credit. He’s over 60 years old and still has it going on! He puts today’s musicians to shame! He’s better than half the ones his age right now. He has aged gracefully and I hope he still continues to thrill us! Keep doing what you are doing Rod. We love ya! There’s only ONE ROD STEWART!
    Always,
    Sherry

I wish Rod would get his Rock’n Roll fire back. His Last rock cd is a step in the right direction, but he needs to rock harder than that. The music business is in the skids these days, and it is good that Rod can still sell cd’s even though he has compromised himself. It is nice to just have him around.Rod is cool in a new way.

    Becky | 11/18/2006, 6:46 am EST

I just want to say I’m a big fan of Rod Stewart’s.He is a great singer.I would never be disappointed in the music he puts out.Keep on rocking Rod!

I too have been following Rod Stewart for over 30 years, I first experienced Rod Stewart and the Faces (Gasoline Alley) at East Town in Detroit for a measly $5.50, I had a friend from Ecorse, (B00), who was a groupie and would get us in the very from row (the pit), he handed us a bottle of champayne, I have pictures of Rod at the East Town Theater, in fact I recently went to look for East Town on VanDyke and 15 mile Road, the building still stands, such good memories I have and a scrap book to refresh the memories. I still follow him. Keep on Rockin Rod!!

    George Myers | 11/19/2006, 9:54 am EST

Thanks for covering some of Jimi Hendrix singing.

    frozencold | 11/22/2006, 12:07 am EST

Yuck. Rod Stewart is gross. It’s like watching my grandfather hustle up chicks. And crooning? Isn’t that for old guys who’ve lost their voice and can’t cut it anymore.

    me | 12/29/2006, 5:37 pm EST

wish I could see rod stewart at 57 and a grandma! Only in my dreams

    Evan | 10/4/2007, 2:12 pm EST

    Jane | 9/21/2008, 6:26 pm EST

Rod is the man. Whenever he comes to d.c., I go and my only regret is I never get the soccer ball…he is an inspiration..if you flip back in time and watch him sing maggie m. and follow him through the yrs, his charisma stays intact…a great performer

    romartinsma | 1/13/2009, 7:40 pm EST

Rod doesn’t have to prove anything to anybody! He is the most successful singer ever. He played to the largest concert crowd ever with 3.5 million fans in copacabana beach 1994! He can do what he wants. He has the voice, the sensibility, the charisma. We just love him. He is the BEST !!!
