Neil YoungWe don’t know how exactly they’re getting away with this, but Wolfgang’s Vault (the company who recently purchased the complete Bill Graham archives) just posted 300 soundboard concert recordings on their Web site. The clips are available for streaming only (if only there was some way to download a stream…) but they’ve got some seriously cool shit. The highlights are to numerous to mention, but check out The Who live at the Fillmore 1968, Neil Young and Crazy Horse live at the Fillmore 1970, Led Zeppelin live at the Fillmore 1969, David Bowie at the Nassau Coliseum 1976, and The Band live in DC 1976. The Band’s 1974 tour and the Rolling Thunder Revue shows are mysteriously Dylan free, but this 1975 SNACK benefit concert contains the one-time only performance of Bob Dylan, The Band with Neil Young and members of his own band. Dylan, for reasons that surely made sense at the time, changes “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” to “Knockin’ on Dragon’s Door.” Listen to as much as you can before the lawyers pounce.

mmmm I’m sure somebody can rip most of this, it you own a Creative MP3 player and their software (Creative Media Source Organizer) theres a nifty little record button with a drop down menu, from there you select the recording source (Stereo Mix) open up the webpage with what you want to rip hit record then hit play on the webpage and TADA! you’ve illegally ripped music.

Dude, the guy owned the copyright to about a million shows that he (’Wolfgang’) put on from the 60’s to late 80’s or even early 90’s. The live recordings mind you. This guy was a genius, just read the history on the web page before not knowing what’s going on. Too bad he’s dead, but I’m glad that they’re releasing this stuff.
