We’re aware that some people actually attend Panic! at the Disco shows for the music. But for us, the rush is all about the theatrics. Will it be a naked androgynous-looking boy or girl in platforms splaying his or her parts out on Brandon Urie’s piano while he pounds the keys, ascot blowing in the wind? Who can say, really. But what we can discuss, for now, is what the band is wearing on their current tour (pictured above). Let’s go with gay pirates as the ostensible theme here? Surely it won’t be long before Hot Topic shoppers are inundated with artfully torn poet shirts and suede pants that lace up the sides.

I think this just made Rolling Stone the DUMBEST magazine I’ve ever read. Seriously, I actually feel DUMBER having just read the headline and teaser.
Mike27 | 11/9/2006, 5:29 pm EST
I know, why dont they stick to bands that have at least some talent. just even a shred
Aaron D. | 11/9/2006, 5:40 pm EST
I know everyone will hate me for this, but I actually like Panic. They’re not my absolute favorite by any means, but I think they’re pretty good. However, I cannot stand their image. It’s reeks of the bloated pretention that I wouldn’t even accept from U2, let alone a band with a single album under its belt.
The “I Write Sins, Not Tragedies” video made me want to shoot myself in the face. Thank goodness the Foo Fighters are still making videos.
Gracie | 11/9/2006, 5:42 pm EST
Dude, gay pirates would be awesome!!!
Ash | 11/9/2006, 5:43 pm EST
Yo Rog: Dumb people read the magazine, so therefore they must appeal to the masses. Unfortunately.
psychedelic.phunk | 11/9/2006, 5:52 pm EST
listen, i actually like panic! and i don’t think ur givin them a fair go just because they bring something different to the table. they should be credited for what they have achieved at such a young age.. it would be pretty boring if all rock brings to the tube is head-banging, tongue-stiking musicians… appreciate rather than diss.. rock on panic!
Mykl | 11/9/2006, 5:55 pm EST
the music and image don’t meet.

bands like panic have succeeded in ruining music. rock is officially dead.
ROG | 11/9/2006, 6:07 pm EST
I just wish it were about THE MUSIC. I dig Panic. I just don’t give a fuck what they wear. I don’t understand why it matters AT ALL, let alone enough to warrant a featured article on this website.

HEY I WAS PANICING AT THE DISCO BEFORE ALL YALL!!!!!
lol jk
ian | 11/9/2006, 7:06 pm EST
Anyone who likes Panic! At The Disco should shoot themselves. They are quite possibly the worst band of all time and if you think that they are good, you obviously have no idea what good music is.
boo boo | 11/9/2006, 7:17 pm EST
speaking of ape this band can suck my banana!!!!
Jeff | 11/9/2006, 8:27 pm EST
I’d certainly be up for a Panic! orgy, but I’d leave if they started playing with any other instruments than the ones they were born with.
Keef's Pick | 11/9/2006, 11:01 pm EST
Emo is for people who are too young to know any better.

Theatrics eh? I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t pay money to see them. good acting/dressup stunt or not…their music isn’t great or even all that good. That sort of counts when you PLAY MUSIC FOR A LIVING.
CAPacelli | 11/10/2006, 8:47 am EST
just when you thought panic couldnt get any gayer…
Ray Ray | 11/10/2006, 9:13 am EST
