Reason #7,914 that Finland is the coolest country in the world: Putsch ‘79, a sick electronica duo that makes insane roboto-dance music in the vein of peak-era Daft Punk mixed with the Bee Gees. Get a load of their fresh video for “Asian Girls,” which features a Women’s Studies-caliber montage of vintage Technicolor commercials featuring buxom glamazons and go-go dancers fawning over brand new appliances and playing with beach balls. Taken together, there’s something vaguely pornographic about the images, especially when they’re accompanied by this synthy-snakey break beat. (BTW, despite the song’s title and refrain, there is a total absence of Asian girls in this video.) Respect to our girl Emma in Chi-town, who hepped us to this wicked clip.
