This is exciting 10 years ago. Now Diamond Dave is so far out of it. Looks like crap. And if I said that about Eddie that would be doing him a compliment compared to what he really looks like now. And you know that Eddie and Dave hate each other (and judging from the backstabbing comments Eddie made recently about Micheal, there probably not too chappy either) so you know this is absolutely about the money and nothing else. There isn’t any passion left there. The greatest American R n R band of the 1980’s is now a sad image of itself. Don’t degrade it more by touring.

And,maybe they can release that shelved VH/DLR album(that Michael Anthony says that they were working on way back in 2000)as the new album(with Dave)to accompany with the tour.

Yeah, Mike27, DLR was good in the early days, he helped establish the greatness of VH. But there was loads of good stuff in the Sammy era too (Right Now, Best of Both Worlds, Black & Blue, etc.), and I’d take his solo stuff (I Can’t Drive 55, Where Eagles Fly)over over Dave and Las Vegas show tunes, it’s not even close.

I loved those guys. They must haved rocked in the clubs to get discovered, then on the radio, and most important to me, the juke boxes,and then on to the arenas. Cmon back guys, You belong on stage. Not to diss Sammy, but there was just something about that original band.

I want to see Van Halen on stage, I want to see them play here in Holland, I never knew their music so well, till I watched Live Without A Net, a friend of mine showed me the concert, I was overwhelmed, they played the best music I ever heared, I found out they KICK ASS!!!! Since then I collected their albums and concert videos, and I know for sure this guys are real professionals, THEY ARE TOP MUSICIANS, whatever people say about them. I’ve never seen them play real life, I want to see them play, I want to see them even if I have to loan money to buy me a ticket!! It would be the first time in my life! this will be the top grossing tour of 2007, this thing will go for 18 months, look for stadium shows mixed in. I just saw DLR at foxwoods, he can still bring it, pipes are strong, now if we can get the guitar player to show up semi sober and plug in, we will have a classic tour.

Hey, if u wanna hear the classic stuff, u gotta check out the unreleased material they did in 1976 with Gene Simmons 10 demos and then the 1977 Warner Brothers 25 demos! Now those 35 demos rock!!! Most of u out there never even heard of these songs before. If Eddie and Dave were smart, they would tour these songs and get WB and Simmons to release those songs! I got them all and alot of their really rare stuff from 1974 and 1975!!! Now your talking the MIGHTY VAN HALEN!!!!

I am sorry but, Van Halen will NOT be The Top Grossing Tour in 2007. That my friends will go to GENESIS. I am sorry to break this to everyone Dave in no way a better front man than Collins is. I have seen both in concert and let me tell ya. Dave couldn’t carry Mr. Collin’s jock strap let alone his drim sticks. Here are the facts Van Haen has only sold 75 million albums worldwide where as GENESIS has 150 million albums sold worldwide(mostly through the Collins era). Knowing that GENESIS is ONLY playing 40 dates Europe(20) and N. America(20) that the fan base for them is so large that all of their show will be in stadiums and not little ampitheaters across the U.S.. Because we all know what kind of shithead that Ed is. He’ll get pissed off at Dave half way through the tour and the rest of the shows will be cancelled. Plus we know who is doing it for the money and not for the fans. The band SHOULD take some of these rare demos on the road and use them to promote a new CD release! I take it most of you VH Dave fans never even heard of these rare demos huh? They are great!!!!

I camped out overnight in a stadium parking lot in 1978 to see their 1st tour and they were by far the best of the bill, incl.Sabath, Haggar(!?), Boston, an unbilled Prince, everyone was downhill after they opened, but that was then–let’s remember it fondly and leave it.

Since I saw some latest DLR shows, I don’t want DLR back in Van Halen. Everybody would be disappointed, because of the high hopes and the rememberings of times long ago. And seeing the 2004 reunion with Sammy, I don’t want him back, the whole tour was bad (do you remember drunk Eddie fu**ing up every song?!?). The best for Van Halen would be a completly new singer – nothing else! Gary did a great job and on VH3 there were more great songs than on many other albums of VH. Even if Eddie fu**ed up the production while turning his guitar too loud…Greetings from germany.

Richard, the Chris Cornell sighting with EVH recently has been confirmed. Most of you VH fans don’t know this but Chris Cornell was real close to replacing Sammy in 1996. His recent meetings with EVH are no doubt related to the 2007 tour (Plan B) if DLR does not work out.

The Michael Anthony falling out with EVH & AVH had to do with his post 2004 tour comments regarding EVH, and his touring with Sammy last summer as “The Other Half”.

As it stands now (recent credible source) Chris Cornell is a 50% frontman for the 2007 VH tour……….

It’s not about the fighting or the pissing contests within the band. This tour is about what VH is about. A great evening with friends getting fucked up and listening to the greatest American Rock and Roll band of all time.

Eddie is an ass. He is also a great musician. If he could just suck it up and get over all the animosity. He seems to be the main reason things don’t work out. When he decides to grow up and get it together is what we’re all forced to wait for, if that ever happens. I’d love to see them all together 1 last time. I definitely think they could make it a huge deal. I’d spend the cash.

Saw VH with both. Great shows, great showmanship all around, but DLR just had something special.Plus, the Van Hagar era was overproduced and repetitive. Hopefully Dave’s still got it.

Eddie is the worlds Greatest guitarist by far, nobody even comes close.
Satriani and Vai are both riding in to Eddie’s wake. They are both great too!
Alex is an amazing drummer, one of the best in the world who is not credited enough in the music industry.
Micheal Anthony is a great bass player and backup vocalist, who like Alex is also underated.
They all need to pipe dopwn and get their act together!
I hope they put out a new album to support the tour!
