- We are Courtney Love fans. Even now. Still rooting for her. And we were following along pretty well in this update about the new Courtney Love/Linda Perry album (out sometime next year) until we encountered this quote from Perry: “Courtney Love’s name should be right next to Bob Dylan when they say best lyricist of all time.” First Moby, now Perry. Help us help you, guys. Sigh.
- We were feeling sorry for Yohane Banda, birth father of Madonna’s new adopted Malawian child, but now he’s just gone totally insane with claims that he never thought Madonna wanted to “make [David] her own.” Banda reportedly said, “It would have been better for him to continue staying at the orphanage because I see no reason why my child should be given away forever when I can feed him.”
- A recent Lil Wayne show at Morgan State University was reminiscent of that scene in Batman when Jack Nicholson’s Joker throws bills out into the crowd, except without the green tear gas or the Prince tunes. Three women were injured in the chaos that resulted as people tried to collect the cash being thrown offstage, though it’s unclear if Wayne was directly involved.
- The International Mixtape Project sounds a lot like a chain letter scheme, but with, you know, mixtapes. In other words, we want to part of this but it could be cool.
- Clash drummer Terry Chimes discusses his current life as a yoga-doing vegetarian chiropractor.
- Billy Bragg heading out on an anti-fascism tour.
