Revealed: The Killers Militaristic Drinking Schedule

KillersIn the Killers’ world, Sunday is a holy day honored by the exclusive consumption of tequila and Jameson Irish whiskey. This according to the Smoking Gun, which claims to have tracked down an authentic Killers tour rider revealing, among other band habits, a very ambitious drinking schedule. Nothing if not regimented: On Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Killers commit to Maker’s Mark and Absolut, while Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday they require Jack Daniels and gin. And that’s all in addition to a pretty healthy collection of beer, wine and cider required at each show. Also on the list? Six fresh avocados. What does one do with six avocados? Knowing Brandon we’re picturing face masks, but when you’re dealing with people who prefer creamy peanut butter to chunky you can let your imagination run wild.

I don’t want to be a killjoy, but these articles of band “riders” never mention that the rider provides for more than the band. The food and alcohol are there for the roadies and the entire backstage crew, the afterparty which will include fans and members of the press, and of couse, it’s a way of testing the quality of a venue. If the venue fails to provide the requested items, the contract is void and band is free to walk. Just saying…
