Last week Beyonce and her ubiquitous mother, Tina, made an appearance in Chicago for the launch of the duo’s House of Dereon clothing line. Everything was running along smoothly (lots of chatter about Dereon representing “three generations of style” whatever that means) when a local CBS reporter asked a question about concerns local boutique owners have about the clothes.
Apparently, she said, several people have complained about what the reporter called the “poor fit” of pieces from the line. “Why would you do that here!?” Tina fumed. When the reporter persisted, Knowles snipped, “Yeah, I don’t want to talk about that on the air.” This woman’s power to scold is downright terrifying. Remember how she reacted to the PETA reps at Nobu a few months ago? Beyonce had that same mommy-please-deal-with-this look on her face then as well. Is mommy-whipped an expression?
