When we saw that the Noisettes were playing a gig with Babyshambles Saturday in the English town of Birmingham, we seriously considered cashing in our 401K and heading across the pond. Now we are so wishing we did. Apparently the crowd was so worked up to see Babyshambles (especially after Pete D. appeared onstage before the Noisettes’ set) that they heckled the shit out of the band, who responded with typical defiance by playing louder and better. Unfortunately, in her attempt to (severely) rock out, lead singer Shingai Shoniwa dislocated her shoulder (doing a cartwheel across the stage) and had to be taken to the hospital.
Noisettes guitarist Dan Smith, in a fit of post-show rage, spewed an anti-Pete tirade on the band’s MySpace blog in which he accused Doherty of having a Messiah complex. Less than twelve hours later he posted a retraction. DRAMA. Read the full text of both posts after the jump.

Post 1:
We had to walk off the stage in the middle of our set last night (Birmingham Academy- our gigs in Birmingham are always shit) but it wasn’t because some fucking pricks out in the crowd were booing us- I’d like to set the fucking record STRAIGHT on that- It was because the ball of Shingai’s shoulder popped out of it’s socket while she was in the middle of doing a cartwheel- She was in a lot of fucking pain- It happened to her a week ago so it was much worse this time round. We had to get an ambulance to rush her to hospital-
We won’t be at Leeds tonight- We’re taking Shingai to a hospital in London- and then she’s going to rest- I don’t know how long that will take but there it is- Her health is much more important- More important than any fucking shows.
I’d just like to say, Pete, what the fuck were you doing coming out onstage while we were setting up to play? Are you really that much of an egomaniac or did you want to actually sabbotage our show? After that point the donkeys had gotten a taste of the carrot- They weren’t going to tolerate any other band getting up to play. They’d seen their Messiah walking across the fucking stage. But had Shingai not gotten seriously injured like that, we would have kept going whether people were booing or throwing shit. I personally was getting OFF on the negative reaction from so many fuckheads. I think Shingai was too although she said that after the gig when she was lying on a hospital bed Jacked up on Morphine! Jamie was super fucked off with it all but he was a proper fucking soldier- He had to harass the fuck out of the security to get them to get an ambulance, and then he carried Shingai down two flights of stairs and sorted everything out- I also get the feeling that he managed to leg it out the hotel in the morning and see a lady too-
Post 2:
I’m sorry- i don’t mean any ill will to Pete and the rest of the babyshambles- I don’t really know Pete and i’m sure he did’nt really mean any harm- Drew actually was back there trying to reset Shingai’s shoulder and those guys have been really nice to us for the whole tour Nigel got all our gear off the stage and bailled us out in Dublin when our van died– I just got really upset seeing my friend shing in such pain and i’m more angry with myself for just being useless in the face of all this- i kind of froze – did’nt know what to do- I also don’t mean any bad feelings to Babyshambles fans – ahh fuck, it’ s over – tommorow is another day
