Finally an answer to the enduring question: Who the hell cares about Russell Crowe’s music? According to New York Magazine, RZA cares, and he cares a lot. The rapper, who is co-staring with Crowe in the Ridley Scott flick American Gangster is particularly into the Crowe-penned track “Weight of a Man” with the lyrics: “I’m so hard to handle … my life’s a suitcase that’s never been closed / But … you’re not one bit scared / to shoulder / a burden like me”. “I was like, ‘Damn, I kind of feel that‘,” RZA reportedly said. “My world, hip-hop—[it’s] very promiscuous, but I do have a girl that I have to return to. And I appreciate it so much, but I never knew how to really explain it.” He went on to say, “I heard this song, I called her up immediately, I was like, ‘Yo! I’m not saying you should get his album—but he definitely has beautiful lyrics.’ ”
Speaking of Wu-Tang Clan affiliates, Ghostface Killah reportedly claimed that the group may record together again during a recent performance, providing everyone can get over their inter-band drama. “If we can really come together and … put aside all the differences that we had, then we could make a Wu-Tang album,” he reportedly said. “We gotta square up a lot.” Perhaps Crowe could rap the ODB parts.
