At this year’s U.K. Beatboxing championships, an emcee from a tiny suburb outside of London dubbed Beardy Man (who, interestingly, lacks a beard) spits, scratches on imaginary turntables, echoes and whistles better than most major label artists do in their swank studios. He even samples a crazy-obscure cut called “Feeling Good”, from the 1965 Broadway musical The Roar of the Greasepaint. Check out this video, filmed in a dingy little club, which showcases his skills and explains why he now gets laid like a rock star (we’re assuming.) That’s actually Darren fluttering those “horn” notes.
