What’s up with all the old school musician assault charge stuff today? A Criminal Court Judge in Memphis ruled that the assault charges against Hank Williams Jr. were believable enough to send the case to a grand jury, which will decide if Williams should stand trial. The charges are being brought by a cocktail waitress (seriously) who claims Williams yelled at her and attempted to choke her at a local hotel bar. The waitress says that after the alleged attack, Williams’ publicist offered her tickets to a Williams concert that weekend. Williams’ people claim the whole case constitutes “financial hijacking.” Exciting stuff, no? After the judge made her decision Williams apparently summarized his complicated emotions about the whole thing this way:”You know what’s going to happen? I’m going to go have some good old Memphis barbecue right now.”
