Wow. Um, jealous much? Sure, OK Go is pop music, but it’s not bad pop music. And at least they got noticed for doing some fun and unique, like the treadmill bit, instead of being total media whores. They started with minimal momentum and built their popularity through word of mouth, which, if you ask me, is pretty impressive these days. And I’m sorry, but calling them “fairies” is extremely immature and just reeks of sour grapes.

Who cares? Its not like Hinder is a great band…they hate OKGO because its different from them and their “success” upsets them. He had Buckethead, as a lead guitarist…what a tool. That album will be nothing like G&R, nowhere near as good on any level, without the rest of the band. Some of you will say, “well, he was the heart and soul of the band” Fine. Whatever. But what good is a heart and soul, without digits and limbs? I really dont think, some guy other than Slash would have put together so many classic riffs for Axel to write lyrics, as Slash did. Grow some brain cells, buy the new pearl Jam CD.

I love Hinder and those comments are out of character for Hinder. I think it is interesting that this is all Rolling Stone came up with in their interview. Especially since this interview follows a scathing RS review of Hinder. I think I smell a rat and it isn’t Hinder. By the way, I love the OK GO treadmill video. I’ve watched it numerous times. But for the life of me, I can’t even remember the song on the video.

Let me tell you what RS didn’t. Hinder’s album, Extreme Behavior, has gone Gold and is well on its way to Platinum. Their video for Lips Of An Angel is a top video on VH1. They are 5 great guys who love their fans and love what they do. What I want to know is why did RS only print those few comments out of an entire interview? Hinder is new… RS is very experienced. This has contrived written all over it.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of either Hinder or OK GO, but if I had to say one band is shittier than the other, I’d go with Hinder. Even though what they said is fucking hilarious. And Ok Go aren’t fairies- the “treadmill song” is about a one night stand that turned into a more serious relationship, and now the lead singer, who wrote the song, is married. They haven’t even always dressed funny- go find pictures from two or three years ago and they’re in normal jeans and a t-shirt. They do the suits ’cause its funny- they did the treadmills ’cause its funny. They’ll probably come out with some other “cheap gimmick” that’s also pretty hilarious, and then people’ll bash ‘em for that.

So how is some garbage prefabricated Nickelback/Creed/Puddle of Mudd/Chevelle/Shinedown/Defaul t/Breaking Benjamin knock-off, that’s as someone already said, probably only been signed because the guy that found them proclaimed them as the next Nickelback, gonna bash on a band that’s been touring non stop since fucking 1999 and constantly building a steady devoted fan base through songs that are about thing that have actually happened in their lives and their fans can relate to (I’m talking about Thursday, not OKGO as most people are) as opposed to blatently ripping off every power ballad ever written?

Unlike most here, I find it most difficult to believe a band like Hinder is hating on Thursday. Thursday may not have sold as many records as Hinder. (I’m not sure actually, Thursday has 4 moderately successful albums to account for, 2 of which being on small Indie labels Eyeball and Victory, where as Hinder has what, one major label release that was undoubtedly sent to every modern rock radio station in the country?)

Plus Geoff Rickley has a fucking amazing and versatile voice..listen to ‘This Song Brought To You By A Falling Bomb’ or ‘War All The Time’ or ‘Asleep In The Chapel’.

And to all of you using Hinder being on VH1 and having a ‘hit’ video as a means for them being a talented band, fucking Britney Spears had a number 1 video. Is she a talented musician? Hell I think Tom Green reached number one with his joke video at one point.

As far as OKGO goes, I’d much rather listen to them than Hinder, and I haven’t even heard this Lips Of An Angel bullshit.

While the financial success of Hinder may outweigh those of Thursday and OK GO, take a look at the fan base of Thursday alone, despite two of their releases being Indie, they’ve managed to continuously pack shows since 1998, don’t worry everyone, Hinder will become a dated fad within months..

When I read this article,it totally pissed me off! I’ve been a fan of Ok Go even before the “Here it goes again” video came out and I’ve already liked this song and the rest from their cd because they’re music and style is different and catchy from the rest, which is one of the reasons why I like them so much.OK Go has worked hard for the past 8 years to get to where they are today and I was so happy for them when they finally made it to the popular music scene with their creative indie/power pop sound and originality because they deserve it.What they do is something that no other band has done before.I totally support Damian,Tim,Andy and Dan(Ok Go)through and through no matter who says what about them.

Hinder tries to be hardcore rock, and diss other bands, but they’re really not. It’s all just for show. They make it look like Hinder is all about sex, drugs, rock and roll, and groupies. also, ive seen the music video for ‘lips of an angel’, and it looks like the lead singer is trying to immitate the singer from taking
back sunday in the video for ‘makedamnsure’. not to mention the song isn’t that good to begin with. the singer tries to hard to sound like chad kroeger. geoff rickley might not have the best voice, but at least its original and has emotion.

the bottom line is that in a couple years, hinder will be forgotten while original groups (like thursday) will still have a career.

Lips of an angel is a great song. I haven’t heard any of their other songs so I’m not a huge hinder fan but I do love that song. I’ve never heard of Thursday and I can’t stand the treadmill video nor the song by OK Go.

You got to love a band that’s bringing back the whole “rock ballad that ends with the first line repeated” thing. I also love how in the video when he says the line (What ya doin callin me this laaaate?”) he’s actually on the phone singing. These guys are the new Spinal Tap. At least in OK Go’s video (I’m not exactly a fan of them either) they’re trying to be funny, whereas Hinder does it accidentally. I also saw on VH1 how one of the bands they try to model themselves after is Poison. If that doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does.

Hinder to me sounds exactly like a mix of Nickleback and Creed, which is a horrible mix. See, I saw Hinder perform at Planetfest in Jax Fl a couple weeks ago & Hinder can Rock. They are awesome performers. When I met the band after the show , they were all very friendly, conversationasl & fun. There were no ego trips that I saw. They drank & partied with the fans like old friends . And as for those who think ” Lips of an Angel” sucks … When the band played that …. Man ! It brought down the house ! I happen to think Hinder is very capable of longevity and I also happen to think that OK GO’s “Here it goes again” video is the dumbest shit I have ever seen. Well all i have to say is I know these guys and I know some of them have girlfriends. But they are truly good guys. And they are a blast to party with. For those of you that haven’t seen their shows maybe you should go and see how many REAL fans they have. They are great and their shows are amazing. Then, after the shows they actually take the time to meet their fans and get to know them. The whole sex/drugs/ rock n roll I have to say is just an image in a way… But even after the shows they go to the strip clubs. Since I know them personally I have to say I don’t agree with all the “Sex” part of their image going on since they have girlfriends and going to strip clubs, and using girls for one night stands- that pisses me off. But I give them credits for their music they actually wrote so people could relate to.

I liked Hinder for awhile, but their music is empty, there is no room for your own view on the songs, their lyrics are basic and sound like I wrote them when I was 16 comlpaining about my ex. Seriously look at the other bands out there right now, compared Hinder is just a phase and I don’t think they are going to make it unless they change what they write about. They need an amazing follow up album otherwise they are old news. And as of right now they say they are all about rock, um….they have more sixteen year old girls listening to their music than OK GO, which in my book makes them the “fairies”, or pop stars. What on earth do you guys have against Creed? Except for Scott’s too extravagant behaviour on the stage they did a great rock music, one of the best ever. If somebody can’t see it, they don’t understand rock music. And that’s what we forget about- music is important, not what sb said or did. Hinder guys probably overdid it with what they said, I don’t know, I’ve never actually heard about OK GO or THURSDAY and have no idea what they play. But what irritates me is when somebody says Creed or Staind, or even Hinder is not a ROCK music. Their music fills the whole room! Clean your ears guys.
P.S.: I like Guns N Roses as well, but compare AXL’s voice to that of Stapp’s or Winkler’s- it’s impossible.

Hey everyone! I usually don’t respond to this crap, but I’m just furious about what I’ve read!!!!! I’ve heard OK GO, and was not impressed, but EVERYONE has their own opinion on what music they like! And the right to defend their bands/music, -yes, Hinder needs to respond a little more lightly about bands they don’t like or whatever-maybe they do know each other and it’s personal, we’ll probably never know.

But Hinder is AMAZING! If you’ve ever been to a show, you’d know that. They bring back the FUN in rock. They put on a kick ass show, then hang out with fans and get to know them-not only for their first cd, but every time, every show. I have met them a few times and they are all great guys, they love their fans. And their music is great! And to the guy talking about the song “Use Me”–talking about it had 3 Motley Crue cords: MICK MARS ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THE SONG!!!!! The guys from Hinder went to Mick’s home and recorded it with him!!!! So, they didn’t STEAL anything, just borrowed the GOD himself to help them out and the song is awesome!!! I bet if you look at some of the inside of your cd’s or whatever, you’d find alot of 80’s metal musicians names in them as producers, extra guitar, whatever… If you’d take the time to read something, you might’ve figured that out!
