Weekend List: U.S. Open Rockers!

9/8/06, 7:54 pm EST

johnny macA very un-rock-and-roll secret: there is a klatch of obsessive tennis fans in the RS offices. When they should be blogging or, say, producing the magazine, sometimes they find themselves glued to the TV in an editor’s office watching Sharapova devastate Mauresmo with her ground strokes. Bottom line: we’ve been trying all day to think of a good tennis-related list to leave you with this weekend. But let’s face it, the U.S. Open just doesn’t have that much to do with rock music, so all we could manage was a bunch of songs with tennis terms in their titles. Here’s what we’ve got:

  • “Matchpoint Of Our Love” – Beach Boys
  • “Soft Serve” – Soul Coughing
  • “Love Games” – Level 42
  • “Deuce” – Kiss
  • “Breakpoint” – Megadeth

Your turn.

Yea Cream’s “Anyone for Tennis” I thought would have been the most obvious choice.
