Tribute albums: domain of creepy string quartets? No more! On two new — and very bizarre — compilations, Radiohead becomes the latest band to ride the remake wave. Hipster parents vying for nursery school indie cred (you know who you are!) will plotz over “Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Radiohead,” which features glockenspiel and vibraphone on such classics as “Karma Police” and “Paranoid Android.” (Unless you’re raising a socialist, you’ll probably appreciate that lyrics like “kicking, squealing Gucci little piggy” are absent — this puppy is instrumental-only.) For Lil’ John accolytes there’s “Skeet Spirit: A Crunk Tribute to Radiohead.” DJ Gyngyvytus — who might just win the prize for ickiest dj name — puts a chopped-and-screwed spin on cuts like “No Sizzuruprises,” “Flamboastin’ Android” and “Talk Show Hoes.” Combine all this with that track off the new Roots album which samples Thom Yorke and the guys, and we think this Radiohead thing may be going somewhere.
